To be with You

“You should be used to it, after so
long…who was that kid anyway?” Hokano noticed the way he looked at
him, and it bothered him badly.
“He is not a kid…he is young, but not a
kid.”
“He looks small to me…he could be your
son.” There was a tone of irony on his voice.
“He is not.” He is my love…my Yuyu, I feel
it in my heart. His eyes almost turned into hearts and his face
blushed.
“Are you swimming or not?” Hokano was
feeling a little angry with Kouin for his sudden weird behavior.
“No, we have things to do.” He puts his
tunic back on and started to put on his sandals as well. “Will you
do my braid?”
“Yes…” He started doing Kouin’s braid
again- he only wore his hair lose when he went swimming. “But it’s
your time off, aren’t you meditating today?”
“I already told you…we have things to do.”
“I’m done!” The two left back to Kouin’s
office, as they did every day, but Hokano had a bad feeling about
the young man. Kouin couldn’t stop smiling and seemed distracted- it
bothered him even more.
The young musician returned to his home
very excited about his meeting with the High Angel. He ran to his
room to play more music, his face with an embarrassed smile. He was
strange…but so handsome. I like him, his eyes are so sweet, it’s
almost like I knew him already. Kouin…My first day in the Main City
and I already met the High Angel! What do you know…I’m beginning to
like it here! Oh…but I definitely have to clean this messy place,
yuck.
In his office, Kouin was constantly
distracted. Everyone had to repeat everything twice, and sometimes
even three times for him to actually listen. “Huh?”
“Kouin, what’s wrong? You are so distracted
ever since…”
“I am sorry Hokano. I’m tired… I’ll go
home.”
“Ok. Do you need anything else?”
“No, you go ahead. You must be tired of
working with me all the time.”
“No I’m not. I’ll always be grateful for
letting me stay…and I do everything ‘cause I want to. I like helping
you.” A red light lit up on a screen on Kouin’s desk. “Kyuseishu is
on the line.” He pushed a button and a hologram appeared before
them.
“Hey sweetie.” Kouin looked at the
hologram.
“Hey dad, please come and cook something. I
don’t want to eat another one of mom’s dishes…please?”
“I’m coming. Tell your mother to stay out
of the kitchen.”
“YES! C-Ya!” The communication was closed.
“Gotta go! Want to come over and have
dinner with us? I am making one of your favorites.”
“All are my favorites as long as you cook
them and not Kai.” He made a strange face.
“Well…I have to agree with you on that one.
Ha, ha.”
This time, what never before happened,
happened. Kouin had had overcooked and some were even burned.
“Damn!”
“Father! What did you just say?” Kyuseishu
was alarmed to hear such a word from his father’s lips.
“I’m sorry…I just spoiled the dinner.”
“You what? Impossible!” The young man ran
to check it out. It must be a joke! –He though. “Father! I can’t
believe it! Is something wrong? I mean-you’re distracted…can I
help?”
“I guess you can help putting this on the
trash. Don’t worry, I’ll do it again…this time I won’t burn it.”
Yutaka…I can’t stop thinking about you. My love, you came back to
me. I want to see you again, my beautiful...I can’t wait for
tomorrow! Oh my, I feel like a kid…
“Father? Why are you blushing?”
“I’m just ashamed…you know, for the food.”
I hate to lie…but I can’t tell him the truth! Just imagine: I’m
blushing ‘cause I’m thinking about my true love, Yutaka- No way!
While eating dinner, Kouin didn’t say a
single word- which was making everyone feel uncomfortable. It was
odd since he always spoke a lot.
Who was that kid, and why he’s acting so
strange since he saw him? Who is he? Hokano was very curious. He was
the closest person to Kouin and he had no idea who the boy was- it
was killing him. He knew practically everything going on Kouin’s
life; he was glued to him almost the entire day-he was obviously
aware of everything, more than Kouin even knew.
“Father…you know I want to go to the
seminar with Master Chidou…can I go?” Kouin didn’t answer. “Father?”
“Kouin, your son is talking to you!” Kai
was beginning to get very angry at his attitude.
“Huh? You were saying?”
“You know what, you are impossible today!
You burned the food; you don’t listen to me; you don’t even eat or
speak! What’s wrong, Kouin?”
“Is it about the transformation Kouin?”
Hokano asked.
“I told you that was MY business Hokano,
please shut up.”
“What transformation?” Both Kyuseishu and
Kai asked confused.
“You see what you’ve done?” Kouin snapped.
He’d have to explain something he didn’t want to say yet.
“You have to tell them.”
“Hokano! Can you let me do things the way I
want…god!” But his family was still waiting for an answer. “I- I am
getting in touch with my soul. I’m becoming a high angel…I must part
to Eden. I…I can’t stay here anymore.”
“You are?? I mean…you really are getting
close to your inner self? That’s so cool! How you do it father? It
takes hundreds of years to do it!”
“I don’t know love…but my final study said
that. Master Chidou will do more tests on me, so it’s not final.”
“I am not surprised, Kouin, you’ve given up
to many things to purify your soul.” There was a tone of reproach
Kai’s voice; Kouin gave her an angry look.
“I’ll miss you dad, but it’s for your own
good. You may come visit some day…like Master Chidou.”
“You can go to the seminar, so tell your
grandpa I said so. He’ll take care of it”
“REALLY?? Thank you!!” He stood up from his
seat and kissed his father while jumping on his lap.
“Hey you’re not a baby anymore! You’re
crushing me!”
“Ha, ha! I’ll miss you so much-I can’t jump
on mama’s lap!” He stood up, but hung on to his neck- Kyuseishu was
22 years old but acted very childish. It was typical for youngsters
of his age; they were still considered kids (Angels lived hundreds
of years in the same body as long as it was healthy). “Can we spend
time tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow? Err…well…I’ll tell you what. You
and I will camp outside tomorrow night. Like?”
“Yup! I’ll see the stars…you can come too
mother.”
“No, you two enjoy.” She left the room
silently and obviously angry.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Kouin, anything
else you’d like?” Hokano noticed the atmosphere was getting tense,
so he had decided to leave.
“Yes. Go get me some tools for the
painting…I have none here.”
“What do you need?”
“Everything!” He was obviously happy-he was
smiling with twinkling eyes.
“What painting father?” Kyuseishu started
hugging his dear father and snuggling on his chest.
“I’m making a portrait tomorrow, I’ll show
it to you when I’m done.” He kissed his son’s forehead
goodnight-they were about to go to sleep.
“Cool! Bye Godfather!” Hokano left and so
did Kyuseishu.
After cleaning the kitchen, Kouin went to
his room quietly. “You sleeping?”
“You didn’t tell me and Hokano knew!”
“He overheard it.”
“He always knows everything before I do.”
“I’m not going to argue again. You can be a
real pain and I’m tired. You know…you could leave our personal
problems inside the room and not bring them to the table.”
“Why do you say so? Because I said the
truth?”
“They must know, if I am coupling with my
soul, that I’m not having sexual relationships, so you didn’t have
to complain…at this rate, you’ll never catch up.”
“Just because you want to be heavenly
perfect and pure doesn’t mean I have to suffer the consequences. I
am not made of steal! I need you, you know?”
“Sex is not everything…love is. I guess you
would understand me if you loved me.”
“You’re saying I don’t love you? You are
the one who doesn’t love me! I should understand you? What about me?
You are the one who doesn’t understand. You’re so selfish!”
“Not again! You know what…maybe it’s the
best if I go!” He lay down on his bed in disgust, she was taking his
good mood away. 'Can’t she understand? I’ve been able not to have
sex because she is not my soul mate and because…because she betrayed
me.'
“Sure, do that. I wanted another child and
you never gave that to me…you’re so selfish. SELFISH!”
“You are not tied to me. Many times I told
you and I repeat it again, you are free to go if you want to. We are
not the same anymore.”
“You…never cared for my feelings…sometimes
I wonder why you bring me here!”
“Don’t make me say it…”
“It’s about time you do!”
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You already did!” Silence filled up the
room and she started crying just like many other nights.
'I’m sorry Kai…you don’t deserve it. I...I
am not as good as everyone thinks…I’ve made too many people suffer
because of my wrong decisions. I don’t deserve this transformation…I
wonder if I will actually become a high angel…what’s the difference
between a mid angel and a high angel anyway?'
