Skyline: The light at the top of the Space Needle flashes.Plot: Kenny is concerned that Frasier isn't appealing enough to the younger listeners of KACL - in fact, research shows his average listener is an older gentleman who has the radio on for company! Frasier doesn't believe this, especially when a fan, Lucy, asks for his autograph - until she tells him its for Paul, a man at the hospice she volunteers for! Frasier then reluctantly agrees to do a guest spot on KACL's Teen Scene. The teens on the show - Emily, Trent and Ryan - seem nice enough, but when the show starts they tear apart poor Frasier by bringing up events from his past - such as when he tried to commit suicide in Boston in 1993. During the newsbreak, Frasier is feeling very uncomfortable - until Kirby arrives with some information about the hosts, which Frasier can use as revenge..... Meanwhile Martin wonders if he is love with a female security guard, Peg, and following Roz's advice Niles decides to be more spontaneous with his presents to Daphne - by trying to get her a street sign saying "Daphne Lane". Niles and accomplice Eddie set to work..... Subtitles: Niles Gets His Daily Dose of Spinach. Roz loves..... her ex-boyfriend, who one day stole a "Doyle's Pub" sign to give to Roz as it had her name on. This gives Niles his idea for stealing the Daphne Lane sign. Martin knows..... Peg, a security guard he thinks he may love. Where Everybody Knows Your Name: An indirect mention of Lilith, plus a reference to the time that Frasier threatened to commit suicide by jumping off the ledge of Melville's (the restaurant above Cheers) if Lilith left him. The date given for that in this episode was February 9th 1993, although in Cheers that episode aired in October 1992. Trivia: A brief mention of Gil - his average listener is a mid-30s, well-educated woman, plus a mention of Rich Kechner from Martin's workplace. Eddie and Kirby both make reappearances, and Peg makes her first appearance. This episode is #200 by my numbering but is not the "official" 200th episode - that was Ep 194 "The 200th Episode". Plus we have our 3rd "Niles & Eddie Silent Physical Comedy" scene (the others are in Ep 133 "Three Valentines" and Ep 180 "DocuDrama"). |
