Skyline: Fireworks explode over the skyline.Plot: Frasier is making dinner for his family and Roz when he breaks an old crock. As he is about to throw it away, he remembers various incidents over the years involving the crock. 2003: Niles and Daphne return from their honeymoon and Roz has bought her friend Lisbeth over to try setting her up with Frasier. Frasier and Lisbeth don't take to each other, but become stuck together after Martin used superglue to repair the crock! Then Lisbeth needs the bathroom..... 2002: It's Roz's birthday and all Niles and Daphne are interested in doing is sleeping together, as they did that for the first time not so long ago. Niles has forgotten a present for Roz (as he has been, ahem, "distracted" recently!) and gives her the old crock - with a dead bee inside. 1999: It's July 4th, and Frasier has bought Martin some headphones so that he can watch the TV without disturbing anyone. Frasier is dressed as Uncle Sam for the KACL Parade, and when he goes outside to correct his bunting the door handle breaks and he, Niles, Daphne and Roz get stuck on the balcony. Martin doesn't hear their cries for him to let them in as he is watching the TV with his headphones on! 1998: Thanksgiving 1998 saw Niles living in the Shangri-La and Frasier and Roz out of jobs. Roz is working for a sex chat line to pay the bills and Martin accidentally answers her phone, and Daphne worries that she might be fired as Frasier hasn't got as much money. 1996: Frasier might have found "the one". But he soon finds himself back on the dating scene when "the one" calls to cancel their date, and is annoyed to find they still have the tacky little crock. And Niles is upset over a remark Frasier said to Maris. 1993: Frasier invites his producer, Roz, over to dinner to meet his family. Daphne forgets Niles' name and calls him Miles, and Martin buys Frasier the crock full of cheese after eating his last lot of cheese. 2004: Back in the present, Frasier realises how far he and his family have come over the past 11 years and decides not to throw away the crock. He puts it on the table as he lets his family and friends in for dinner. Subtitles: Crock Tales. It's Maris!: In 1996, Maris is on the phone to her chin grinder in Zurich after Frasier asked her "Why the long face?". And in 1993 she doesn't join the family for dinner as the "large earring fad has compressed her spine". Roz loves.....: Her boyfriend in 1996 who was "a good date". She ended up staying the night with him. Trivia: A very interesting episode this. It was made as a thank you for the fans, according to David Lee, and features flashbacks - but it is not a clip show! All these "old" scenes are being performed by the present day cast wearing wigs to look like their younger selves. Mostly the clips are fairly consistent, although Niles and Daphne slept together in 2001, not 2002, and married in 2002, not 2003! There's a mention of Charlotte at the start of this episode, and Alice, Cam Winston and Gertrude Moon also get mentions. Rosie Perez also voiced the caller Francesca in Ep 36 "Roz In The Doghouse", and was considered for the part of Daphne when the character was going to be Hispanic - of course she was changed to English and Jane Leeves won the role! Roz's birthday is revealed as May 5th (2 days before Eddie's!) and she turns 38, although her age is not revealed (she said she was 38 in Ep 214 "Kissing Cousin", which was in 2002) and this segment appears to take place the day after Ep 183 "Daphne Returns", further suggesting that this should be 2001 instead of 2002. Oh, and in 1993 we discover that Kenny was working as a pizza boy! |
