This green town is stand on the vast
steppe of Gorgân & Gonbad with magneficent
views over " Gorgân &
Gonbad Steppe Block" in the north and Alborz
mountains in the south. Âzâd
Š ahr belongs to Gonbade
Kâvus region which comprise four disricts, eleven rural districts
and five cities ( Gonbade Kâvus ,
Âzâd Šahr,
Xân Bebein, Râmiyân and
Daland). Bâzargân (Artaq),
Sorxâb (Qezeljeh)
and Sar
Tape are some of the villages here. Šâh
Pasand was the former name of the town until 1979.

Prime Attractions: Deland national sancturayJust 11 km south western Âzâd Šahr (off the Ali Âbâd -Âzâd Šahr road) you finnd this, among local people popular, beautiful forest park. Deland national sanctuary established 1979. There are some tourist facilities like camping with toailets/shower and electricity, bungalows and restaurant here. See map. Gole Râmiyân Flower park of Râmiyân, with water fall and a natural pool with area of 7200 sq.m which has made a unique parade of this region. Gole Râmiyân is siuated in the forest c.7 km south of Âzâd Šahr. It is an excellent one day excursion. See map. Getting there:The easiest way to get to these attractions is to charter a car from Âzâd Šahr or Gorgân .
