Ambassadeur 5000C / 5001C

The ball bearing version of ABU's flagship model which was first introduced in 1968: The left hand version, 5001C was introduced in 1972.

Ambassadeur 5000C (Late 1960s, s/n 12345)

This is the earliest of the 5000C introduced in 1968. Note the four screw frame that have otherwise been removed for the 5000 by the mid 1960s.

5000C 75th Anniversary (Limited Edition 1000 pcs)

This is a limited edition 5000C made in 1995 to commemorate the 75 Anniversary of ABU. Two version are made:

Limited Edition, 1000 pieces, with wooden presentation case, spare spool and serialized left side plate with engraving xxx / 1000 (illustrated below).
Limited Edition, 5000 pieces, with leather bag. (see below)
