Cardinals / Records Spinning Reel
I have decided to add this section as there are a big numbers of collectors out there
who collects the Cardinal range of ABU spinning reels.
Much like the "Garcia" branding in States for the Ambassadeur range of reels,
the Cardinal range of ABU reels was imported into states by Zebco and carries with it the
brand of its distributor.
As I do not personally collects cardinals, so do not expect as much information from
here and the frequency of updates will be lower. I would however give my very best.

| This is a Cardinal 33 CDL, the 24K Gold Plated Version of the classic
Cardinal 33. This reel was made in 1990 / 1991 to commemorate the 25 Anniversary of ABU
Cardinals (1965 - 1990) in a very limited run of 1000 pieces. All chrome plated parts of
the Classic Cardinal 33 is plated with 24K Gold. The serial number on the reel foot
runs from 00001 to 01000. I have seen reels with serial numbers running in the range of
00500 to 00900.
The first 500 reels were added as an after thought to the ABU
Golden Collection and corresponds to the set serial number of "GC.00001" to
"GC.00500".

| This is a very early version of ABU Spinning Reel - the 444. Note the
"Record" fish logo. This reel was probably made in the late 1950s or early 1960s
before the introduction of the Cardinals.
