This 2 1/2 hour Love Generation '98 Special was aired on April 6th, 1998.
It's the short version of the 11 episodes. There was a little introduction by Matsu Takako and Kimura Takuya as they reflect the story betweten Riko and Teppei.

Love Generation Special: Behind the Scenes
The shooting of episode 9:
This program was aired on Friday night, December 12, 1997 on Fuji TV in Japan.
The last part of episode 9 was filmed at Toshimaen, Tokyo on December 1 -- only 7 days before the actual airing of episode 9. It was a very tight schedule.

The shooting of episode 9:
It was a very cold day (8 C). Takuya tries to keep himself warm drinking hot cocoa. It then started to rain, so the producer had to move the shooting to inside.

The shooting of episode 9:
They ended up in the arcade. Takako and Takuya practiced the frog leap game, but Takako didn't know where to hit in order to make the frog jump. It was very funny. Seemed like it was her first time in an arcade.

Shooting Locations:
Hakejima Sea-Paradise (near Yokohama):
The scene where Teppei and Riko had their first kiss (Episode 5). Another very popular dating spot among Japanese young couples.
The Indian Restaurant (Teppei's apartment), is actually a bread shop in Shibaura, Tokyo. With the drama's popularity, many young students wanted to rent Teppei's apartment and live like Teppei. Unfortunately, the 2nd and 3rd floor is actually a warehouse for the breadshop. The actual room is all filmed in the studio.
There's many other shooting locations that was very familiar to people who live in Tokyo. For example, the first scene in episode 1 is shot in from of Shibuya bus station. The club that Teppei and Riko hangs out is Club Fura, also in Shibuya.

Special Items from the set:
There are quite a few special interesting items on the set.
he bronze statue in Teppei's room was actually bought in an art gallery in Shibuya for ~US$2,000. Teppei actually likes women's breast, that's why it's very shiny in that area only.
This refrigerator is actually a very old American style refrigerator. I rarely see that in Japan. So, it itself is an oddity on the set. Specially with Riko's handwriting on the door.

The CRYSTAL APPLE:
Everyone is probably wondering about the CRYSTAL APPLE, right? I know I was since the beginning. According to the producer, the deep meaning behind the crystal apple is that there is only one true love and that is Adam and Eve -- hence the apple. But why crystal? Because it's a very fragile element. When you look through it, things looks upside down, symbolizing Teppei's torned apart between Misuhara and Riko.
