In the Trials of Grievance instant-action missions, register your name for point 1 as:
To use the Battlemaster, you must first fix a bug, or your system will crash. Use a hex editor to make these changes:
In the campaigns for either clan, register your name as:
To use a mech that's too big for a mission: copy & rename appropriate files in your MECH2\MEK subdirectory.
For example, say your favorite Mech is a Dire Wolf, user variant 2. Its file name would look like this: DRW01USR.MEK. Simply copy DRW01USR.MEK to FRM01.MEK. Now you have a Firemoth that packs a wallop!
You may also directly edit your .MEK files using Mech Editors: MechEdit for Windows, or MW2-MEK for DOS.
If you edit a custom mech (.MEK file) with a Hex editor, the first number in the file is the max tonnage. You can make this a high number (FF) and then pile on the weapons, jump jets, etc. When you enter a mission that has a set weight limit, it doesn't matter what the mech's weight really is, as long as the unmodified mech meets the weight restriction. Of course, you're still limited by critical slots.

To get back Image Enhancement:
Image Enhancement shows everything in wire frame when you hit W. You can get it back by adding the line
ENHANCED_VISION w
into GAMEKEY.MAP. It was taken out partly because "... the Inner Sphere doesn't have image enhancement technology," and so the game's feature wasn't quite finished - lasers don't show up when it's on.
