NetMech: Download NetMech freeware for MechWarrior 2 modem, serial cable & network play.

• There is no need to buy this CD in stores to play head-to-head using a serial cable (aka null-modem cable), telephones & modems, or over the Internet.

MW2 DOS Patch: Get the Mechwarrior 2 (original) patch DOS v1.0 to 1.1 (2)

• This fixes some bugs that could cause a system crash, and fixes the "right arm always gets blown off first" bug.

Mercenaries Patch: Get the Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries patch v1.0 to v1.5

• Do not even attempt to play Mercenaries without downloading and installing this patch. Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries stands out as possibly the buggiest release of an otherwise great game I've ever seen. Without the patch, you will not be able to properly customize your mechs, and many bugs will interrupt network and single-player game play.
• There is also a v1.06 patch for developers of new custom missions, which you probably are not. Don't bother getting this unless you want to run NetMech missions by yourself. If you do, apply this patch after performing the v1.05 patch.
