Dear Helena and Fernando,
By the previous descriptions I wish we had had the opportunity to meet
you. Agostinho was prompt and courteous.
One week in Lisbon was wonderful and found the apartment to be very
useful and the area safe and friendly (very convenient to the course at
the University!)
Found a fabulous Fado House - Adega do Ribatejo (R. do
Diário de Notícias, 23 in the Bairro Alto district - Map Lonely Planet
Nº 133). The food was good and inexpensive and the staff
rotated the singing effortlessly.
Don't miss Sintra, beauteful and awesome, certainly worth the
hike (the trains leave from Rossio station, which is closest to the
Restauradores stop at the metro)
If you love pastries you have found heaven - the coffe is
not bad either. Tried all Bacalhau dishes I could find -
Bacalhau à Brás my fave. We loved it too as all the previous attested!
We'll be back. Regards.

Dear Helena and Fernando,
Our six weeks in Portugal have come to an end. The time went very fast!
We were on the go everyday and we were glad we could come to this
apartment at night to relax and get ready for the next day.
We want to thank you that you made this possible for us. Except for a
few nights, it was cool and breezy, so we always enjoyed a good night's
sleep.
It was nice meeting both of you and if you ever get to Oregon stop by.
Take care!

Our Memories of Lisbon
The apartment
We shall always remember Helena and Fernando's
place with great fondness. This place transformed into a real lived-in
home for us in just a week's time. Our kids really enjoyed the space. The
extra bedroom, where they could watch cartoons in the small TV. The
kitchen where they drew colored endlessly.
Pingo Doce
We went back to this grocery at least 4 times during our 7
days stay. We like it better than the supermarket in "Modelo".
It became our source of local goods and food such as the "Arroz de
Pato" and familiar food from home.
Campo Grande Station
Our so familiar station. We got to know the blue line, the green line
and yellow line very well.
Also found great buys in the station.
Belém
Our all time favorite. The Monastery, Pasteis de Belém, Torre de Belém.
We highly recommend Pasteis de Belém for their specialty pastry.
Oceanarium
Absolutely magnificent. Better than anything we've seen in the US.
Jardim Zoológico
Went back twice. The collection of animals is really extensive. They
made it in such a way that there is hardly any barrier between us and
the animals. Eating in McDonalds with full view of the alligators behind
a thick glass wall is something else!
Castelo de S. Jorge and Alfama
We actually pushed our double stroller with both kids all the way
up!
Fátima
A must for Catholics. A great learning opportunity for the kids and definitely
a chance for us to renew our faith.
For future guests
Do beware of pickpockets. Suggest that you don't carry a wallet in your
pocket. Cais do Sodré is full of pickpockets.
Thank you very much, Helena and Fernando for your hospitality. Too bad
we did not get to meet Helena, but maybe next time.

Dear Helena & Fernando
We thank you a lot for the hospitality and kindness that you treated us
with. You really made our stay in Lisbon wonderful. The two months just
flew by and we felt to leave this home, away from home.
The facilities are just right, the location perfect and you are just
wonderful.
Wishing you both and David all the very best for your future and
thanking you again.
Hope to meet you soon again sometime.
Kind regards.

Dear Fernando and Helena,
It feels a little sad leaving this apartment which has been our home for
the past 1.5 months. I will be missing staying here... We could not have
wanted anything more...
It was a real pleasure knowing both of you and you two were the only
friends I could really boast about here!! The warmth you have shown has
made our stay here more memorable...
Thank you very much for everything... Wishing you two and little David
all the happiness in life...
Looking forward to meeting you you again.
Love and prayers.

Dear Helena and Fernando,
2,5 days stayed in Lisboa is very short, but we enjoyed it. Even if the
apartment is very far from our starting point (Santa Apolónia Train
Station) and was a bit hard to find, we finally did it thanks to such
nice people we met on our way and to both of you for giving us
information, tips and views.
Helena, thank you very much for the wonderful days we've spent here.
Going to another tourist place will not be hard to find anymore for us.
Fernando told us which subway line color we have to take. This place is
really a home!!! Sorry we don't have time to meet each other. Next time
we will come again with my kids, hoping not having to use the heater.
By the way, we are from the Philippines - province of Batangas. We are
living in Vienna, Austria. We hope to see you in Vienna one day!!!
Thanks for everything!!
Best regards.
