This year has been an exciting one for the Kapa Haka group. The beginning saw the primary school kapa haka group joining in with the rest of the school to welcome new teachers and students to Middleton Grange School.

Earlier this year we participated in the "Tri Nations" powhiri (welcoming ceremony). The kapa haka group were as enthusiastic as the visitors.

For the second  year in a row we entered the Christchurch Cultural Festival held at the Town Hall. This had an added highlight due to the fact that with a lot of hard work from parent and teacher help, our tamariki (children) were able to wear fantastic new uniforms! For the festival we learned a poi for the girls and rakau for the boys.

Other events on our calendar have been a performance at Fiesta with great weather and heaps of people to appreciate it.

I would like to thank Mrs. Donna Smith, Mrs. Sharyn Roberts and Mr. Miles Kau Kau for their huge contribution and effort to see that the group continues to grow and flourish. the tamariki that have put in maximum effort in practices and performances

 Tino pai rawa atu! (Excellent!)
