This term we have been studying bears. We used material to dress our bears. Don't they look great!

As Christmas approaches we have also been thinking about the reasons behind the season.
To us Christmas is.....

  • Jesus' birthday
  • Everyone gets presents
  • We celebrate
  • It's a nice time for everyone
  • You can eat turkey
  • In other countries some animals go to sleep
  • You put up Christmas trees
  • In some countries it snows
  • Stars go on trees
  • You have a fun time
  • It's a special day
  • You have lights on your tree

We made some stockings to hang on our wall.

 

We have also talked about where Jesus was born. He was born in a stable, to his mother Mary.
There wasn't any room at the inn. Joseph was with them. 
Jesus was placed in a manger because he didn't have a bed.

We created some stable scenes showing what we learnt. 

We painted our plates one day, then the next we created the scene. 

 

 

First we had to colour the picture and then cut it out.

       

We glued on Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in a manager

      

Before our plates could hang on the wall we had to tape some string on the back of our plates. We had to check it was at the top of our plates because we didn't want them hanging upside down!

 We did a fabulous job!
