Sailormoon SailorStars: The Fifth Season Episodes 167-200 |
The SailorStars season is divided into two parts: the conclusion of the SuperS season and the Three Lights story arc. We'll begin, naturally, at the beginning: the end of SuperS. If you remember, Queen Neherenia had sealed herself in her little mirror thingie, but had vowed revenge on the white Moon!! A mysterious figure frees Neherenia from the mirror and shows her the Senshi in their civilian forms (about to enter high school, saying goodbye to Chibi-Usa and Diana, who are going home to the future). The sight angers Neherenia, and she breaks her own heart mirror and allows the shards to fall to Earth. One, a shining yellow color, falls into Mamoru's (Darien's) eye. Another hits Haruka (Amara) while she and Michiru (Michelle) are out walking with baby Hotaru. Michiru deals with it in her own way, but more shards appear and turn into monsters. Sailor Pluto shows up to help, but still they're being overcome by the monsters. Hotaru, however, releases a beam of energy that allows them to power up to their Super forms. In this form they're easily able to defeat the monsters, and Hotaru begins to age from a baby to a young woman rapidly. Shards also fall on the Inner Senshi, who are all trapped except Usagi (Serena) and Chibi-Usa (Rini). Luckily, though, the Outers show up (including Super Sailor Saturn), and, by combining their power with the other Senshi, Sailor Moon is able to turn into Eternal Sailor Moon and defeat the monsters. Neherenia is able to capture Mamoru, which affects Chibi-Usa's existence. Realizing that Chibi-Usa might disappear, Usagi begins to cry. One of her tears falls on her broach, and she transforms into Eternal Sailor Moon again and rushes off to fight Neherenia. The rest of the Senshi follow, but they find themselves in a void and divided into pairs: Mars and Neptune, Venus and Pluto, Chibimoon and Saturn, Mercury and Uranus, and Jupiter and Moon. Each pair must overcome a series of illusions set up by Neherenia. Meanwhile, though, the Queen is attacking Jupiter and Moon. Jupiter saves Moon by taking several attacks and is eventually dragged from the mirror, losing an earring in the process. Sailor Moon is hypnotized by Neherenia, but she sees Jupiter's earring and remembers why she's there in the first place: Mamoru. She struggles towards Neherenia and begs her to kill her, which surprises the Queen into letting down her guard. The Senshi escape from their mirrors and Mamoru comes to his senses. Sailor Moon changes into her Eternal form and destroys Neherenia's soul mirror. Neherenia turns into a little girl and wakes from a nightmare. Whew! Now on to the Three Lights... Things get a little crazy in Tokyo with the arrival of the boy band the Three Lights (Seiya Kou, Taiki Kou and Yaten Kou). They end up going to the same high school as the Inners, which causes heaps of problems, especially since Seiya has a huge crush on Usagi and Mamoru isn't around. Where is the Caped Crusader, you ask? Gotham City, duh. Ok, bad joke. Anyway, Mamoru has gone off to college in America for a year, but on the way he's attacked and his star seed is stolen, causing him to disappear. Usagi wonders where he is for the entire season. Poor girl. :( Okee doke, now down to the nitty-gritty. Sailor Galaxia is the baddie we're dealing with here, and her master plan is to find the star seeds embedded in the heads of three specific individuals. She sends out a cute, colorful group of baddies to accomplish this task, and they're known as the Sailor Anima-mates. Their names, in order, are Sailor Iron Mouse, Sailor Aluminum Siren, Sailor Lead Crow and Sailor Tin Nyanko (what the hell's a nyanko?). Right in the middle of all this nuttiness, a little girl pops outta thin air (like Chibi-Usa in R); she has red hair and heart-shaped odango, but she doesn't talk except to repeat the end of people's sentences and to say, "Chibi chibi!" Because of this oddity, everyone just calls her Chibi Chibi (Riri in the English manga... that scares me). Anyway, it turns out she's a Sailor Senshi, too. They're just comin' outta the woodwork! She is, naturally, Sailor Chibichibimoon. Along the way we meet three MORE Denshi (God they're just making my head spin!) named Sailor Starfighter, Sailor Starmaker, and Sailor Starhealer. They're real identities are, you guessed it, the aforementioned Three Lights (Seiya, Taiki and Yaten, respectively). While in human form they're guys, but when they turn into Senshi, they also become chicks. Go figure. Anyway, so this rather gender-confused group is on Earth looking for their Princess, Princess Kakyuu (Fireball; my cat's name is Kaky, but there's no relation). Ok, now if you're not confused already, you might be soon. Chibi Chibi, it is discovered, has Princess Kakyuu in her censer, and she lets her go. Kakyuu tells them all (the Senshi, including, duh, the Lights) about a holy war known as the Sailor Wars. It turns out that the Senshi are on the side of good in this war, the side opposing Galaxia. Chaos was sealed by a Senshi in the past, but it has now escaped. Galaxia wants the star seeds so that the Universe can be returned to a state of chaos; needless to say, Kakyuu wants to stop that from happening, and she asks for Sailor Moon's help. A bunch of stuff happens, including the death of Kakyuu and the last of the Anima-mates (Galaxia kills them by taking these bracelets they have). Then the final battle begins. The Inner Senshi have their star seeds stolen, causing them to fade away. Galaxia reveals to Usagi that she has Mamoru's star seed, too, and the combination sends Usagi into a state of depression. Meanwhile... Uranus and Neptune trade their star seeds to Galaxia for the bracelets the Anima-mates wore, and while under her control they kill Pluto and Saturn (it just keeps on gettin' better). Then they try to take Galaxia's star seed using the bracelets but fail, and Galaxia kills them. So now we're down to Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibichibimoon and the Sailor Starlights. Galaxia summons the Black Sword and uses it to attack the Starlights, wounding them. She also takes Eternal Sailor Moon's star seed, but Chibichibimoon intervenes and loans ESM some of her energy. It is revealed that Chibi Chibi is actually Galaxia's star seed! Back before she lost her star seed, she was good, and she was the one who sealed up Chaos the first time. Chibi Chibi used the star seed inside of her (Galaxia's star seed) to form a sword, and gave it to Eternal Sailor Moon in her Princess Serenity form. Galaxia attacked her, but then Galaxia's clothes turned black, her eyes turned red and wings grew from her back. Serenity attacked and stabbed one of Galaxia's wings; it only made Galaxia mad, though, and she broke her own sword. Chibi Chibi appeared in its place, and Serenity held on to her as she began to fade. Galaxia taunted the Princess, saying that she didn't have the courage it took to be a Sailor Senshi. The ribbons faded from Serenity's body and left her naked except for her wings. She rose, parting her hands, and revealed Galaxia's star seed. After a bit of a battle, Galaxia accepted the seed and Chaos left Serenity's body and floated away. When Galaxia asked her where Chaos had gone, Serenity replied that it had returned to where it belonged: in the hearts of people. Galaxia returned everyone's star seed and disappeared. The five girls, Mamoru, the Starlights and Princess Kakyuu are all standing on a building overlooking Tokyo. A sad scene ensues where Kakyuu and the Starlights leave to return to their planet. The Outers are shown in Haruka's car watching shooting stars. Later, Usagi and Mamoru are walking in the park, and Mamoru tells Usagi that when he's with her he's "filled with energy." The series ends with Usagi and Mamoru kissing. So there you are, Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, season by season. If I have anything wrong (it's HIGHLY possible), please email me with a correction!! |
