One Shot Wonders

Have you ever watched a movie or an OAV, noticed some super cool guy lurking in the background, then never saw him again? This site is dedicated to those guys with less than ideal exposure. They die too soon, they are superceded by the main characters, they are forgotten in their supporting roles, or they were simply evolved too quickly, so that the particular moment of being a Leading Man passes into history. The rallying cry is:

By definition, One Shot Wonders are rather difficult to find scans of...the coverage of these guys leaves much to be desired. It is difficult, though not quite impossible to grab images of these guys. If you have one, or know of one, then please contact me!

The images here were gleaned from many different sites--wherever I happened to see a good picture of the Leading Man in question...In some cases I had to chop him out of a bigger picture, brighten the image itself--anything to get HIS solo mug up there.           Commander Jamison is from the anime Teknoman. He is just so neat. He seems really serious at first but then as the series goes on you find he has a good sense of humor. Plus he is willing to put his job on the line to help his friends. He is also really smart and cares a lot about the Earth. Unfortunately you don't see him much in the anime.

I've never seen this anime, so I wouldn't know...

Why aren't the OAVs as prominent as the rest of Ranma 1/2? Is it because they're not part of the manga? Shin-boy was soo cute! Forgetful, like Ryoga, but not as self-pitying and far more handsome. Add to that the element of tragedy and you've got a winner!
          Note from Jen: Good news. Shionnosuke from "An Akane to Remember" is in the manga. He just comes in MUCH MUCH later. Apperantly there was a contest for Ranma fans to see what story they would most like to see animated and that was the one they picked.

What is most remarkable about him is that he gives Ranma a run for his money with Akane, at least when it comes to my sister. Poor girl, she didn't know WHOM to root for--the only thing that saved Ranma was the hand-holding scene in the end. Otherwise, the number one man might very well be Shionnosuke.

          He's kind, gentle, a doctor and chiropractor. I think the problem with nobody ever nominating him before is because his character just disappears after the first 4 to 5 volumes of the Ranma 1/2 manga. For some strange reason Rumiko Takahashi did not include this neat character later on in her story. I think it was a great loss, as I found Doctor Tofu's "crazy" behaviour when Kasumi is around very FUNNY ^_^ just hilarious! It really is a shame that this character got dropped off. The TV series brought Doctor Tofu back in a few episodes, but that was it.
