Jesse Owens - the myth
We all find something different of interest in the pages of a s tamp
album. Some items hardly seem to catch our eye, while others make us
stop and
think. Such an item are the stamps that recall the great victories of
Jesse Owens. As a sprinter he was untouchable and he was the first
athlete in the world to jump more than 8 meters in the long jump. The
four gold medals he won in Berlin in 1936 still remain a legendary
achievement. The two stamps commemorating Owen's achievements were
issued at different times by different countries.
