Many Olympic stamps attempt to illustrate the Olympic rituals of the past. It is quite interesting to know these traditional ceremonies. Ancient Greek authors and artists periodically preserved the descriptions and details of these rituals. Here is a reproduction of such ritual as depicted on a Greek stamp. It shows the musical performance being performed in honour of Olympic winners.
