Organized by the Sarawak Music Society, this has become one of the annual highlights where these young people often make their debut at performing in public.

There were thirty-four selected for this year’s event. Most of them were pianists, but there were also violinists, flautists, a viola player and a trumpeter. Ranging from the very young to those in their late teens, they performed with flair and confidence.

The ABRSM Regional Consultant for S.E. Asia, Mr. Geoffrey Smith, who could not be present this year, sent a message applauding musicians and encouraging them to take part in more group playing and chamber ensembles.
