The Christmas Musical Evening was held at Tunku Putra International School on Saturday 12 December 1998.  We used the Assembly Room on the fourth floor which involved a fair climb for everybody! But we had the luxury of air-
conditioning. The room was suitable decorated with Christmas tinsel, streamers and many balloons. The children had a great time with all the balloons!

The programme was varied and quite different from last year. We listened to:

Ave Maria by Bach/Gonoud played by Pamela Sue Antan (violin) accompanied by Constance Tan Siang;

Scherzo by Kabalevky played by Cassandra Chin (piano);
Fighting of tornadoes played by Wendy Jong on the Ku Tzen;
A Medley of three Carols played by Bong Jin Horng, Esther Wong, Hong Fay Ying (on one piano);
We 3 Kings and all that Jazz played by the students of the Avant Garde Musical Academy: Kho Siok Hoon (piano), Lorraine Chai (clarinet), Yeo Han Then (clarinet), Melissa Boon (flute), Katherine Lau (flute), Lau Kha Fui (flute), Leatrice Chai (flute), Victoria Lim (violin), Semantha Lim (violin);
Cartoon Medley sung by a Children Choir organised for the occasion by Yeo Yu Puay accompanied by Grace Chai.

At the end of the programme -by special request of the members- the audience sang Christmas Carols conducted by Vernon Kedit and accompanied by Constance Tan Siang. Vernon Kedit got everybody going and we even had volunteers on the stage singing descant, soprano, tenor, alto.

This was followed by some light refreshments and lots of orange squash: many throats were parched!

It was a very good evening and many thanks to all the performers and the audience.
