This tournament took place shortly after the birth of Trunks, and a just over 9 months before Goten is born. ^_- The Z Fighters did not participate in the tournament as they were awaiting the arrival of the Artificial Humans, which was only five days away. This was the first Budoukai known that did not take place three years after the previous one, as a new arena was being built. The newly completed arena had a much larger seating capacity than the previous one and had a much larger fighting square.

Besides the winners and runner-ups stated above, it is known that the Mighty Mask (who entered the 25th Budoukai) was defeated in the first round, and Killer (who also participated in the 25th Budoukai) was defeated in the second round. The tournament occurred 19 days prior to the Cell Game.
