A view taken on a crisp Autumn morning 2000.
It shows the southern part of South Caradon's processing floors and the shafts exploiting the southern batch of lodes. Jope's Holman's and Rule's engine houses are all sunk on these lodes with the adit opening out onto the valley floor. The furthest limit of the exploitation, Kittow's shaft lies out of sight beyond Rule's shaft.
Clymo's shaft  is located within the undergrowth in front of Holman's shaft but this never had any associated engine houses.
The Valley floor is scarred by the remains of the ore processing floors and remains of the Railway loading bay. Water lying in hollows on the right hand valley floor mark the probable area of the Halvan processing floors.
The Looe and Caradon Railway fringes the right of the picture on its route to Tokenbury. and South Caradon's tramway can be seen rounding the hillside.

On many mine sites in Cornwall dangers may still exist, many hidden.
