TRIBUTE.THEMEMORABILLIONOFUANDU2.
TRIBUTE is the place especially made for anyone who wants to speak out about the band through words. It can be an inspirational momment, in remembering their kindred spirits or social movement. Or maybe it's just a plain thanks for their contemporary noise. Whatever. Cause in TRIBUTE everyone is invited. Just free your mind and liberate your sense. This is my
own experience so in some cases it might not happen to
you, but though we're in separate, will you just read
it, cos at least there's a chain that bound us, right?
O.K, here's I start.

U2 TEACH ME TO BE ADDICTED TO THE NOISE. In a positive
way, of course. I felt in love with this band at the
first sight. Really, it wasn't from the radio or
someone's tape, but from the video a friend had
recorded from MTV. There were various artists, but
once this band came up with their With or Without U
video, I just couldn't take my eyes over them. The way
Anton Corbijn visualized their image was
so...imaginative, made you so curious about them. And
then, their song, the way they crafted the tunes, the
beat was so...cool, or very delightful I might say-
for that time. Though I was so desperately like them,
there was no passionate on me that made me had to buy
their album, or to collect their stuffs, the way
DuranDuran did to me on that time. I was so teen you
know, that the hippest band I related to was
DuranDuran and the best were Queen and Genesis. So
what I always remembered about them was the black and
white image, the shade of grey band...cool but
untouchable. Then they came again in 1991 with their
Achtung Baby, that made me suddenly stucked for a
while..it's that the band with the charcoal?..why they
can be so...funky now?- that was the first thing came
on my mind when I heard Mysterious Way on the radio
then on TV. This was then I felt in love so deep with
them..musically. The album was my first best album
ever, cos I adored all the songs. This album also that
made me financially broke up cos I had to buy their
past albums, in the name of love I had for them, the
way Queen, Genesis or DuranDuran did to me before.
Here then I realized that this band was so
different...they are the wanderers, the adventures -or
anything- in the tunes. Hearing their songs-from past
to present-was such a trip, like watching the saga of
the Star Wars, or the Indiana Jones. The actors were
still the same, but the place and the stories were
totally different, a whole new world. Something that
made you want to beg for more...Here then also I
became aware in music...I mean I ready to jump to
another tunes, ready to push my ears to hear different
beats...and ready to live in various harmony. And
what's is the best tunes, anyway? For who and in what
kind? As long as you feel alive in that beat then
that's the best one...for you, at least. If you're
ready to play with the open mind in your head, then
you can discuss what's the best one for anyone. That's
another lesson I got from them. Then...

U2 SHOW ME COLORS WHEN THERE'S NO TO SEE. Like it or
not, I realized then that U2 tought me to be a true
believer, when I was...you know, losing my religion.
The way they talked about God and so on, made me want
to bring back my inner self to be more passionate in
my belief as much as I listen to their music. They
really gave me a hope when I couldn't believe. I know,
there's something beyond our logic here, but if they
can be like that, why can't I? Or, at least they show
me that there's no wrong with that...or being the
believer doesn't mean I have to look like a prisoner
or a stranger, out of nowhere. I can be still what I
want to be, without have to cut off my personal
connection to The One that made me.
And you know, once we want to bring back our realm of
sprituality, then the rest will swift smoothly in our
mind, that finally reflect in our attitude. And this
moment... is a rare thing or maybe the hardest one I
found in any pop musicians. And this one also that
make me want to stamp them as my best icons ever,
cause they give me a multi-dimensional feeling, that..
"as you get to know it better, it draws you in,
becomes something more personal to you", Edge said.
But I don't feel the right one here. It's alright if
you think that they just a band -that's what they are,
right?-, no more than that...I mean no more than just
the music its self. I just want to say that... I feel
so happy and so blessed to have it..that kind of
feeling...and just want to share it with you...with
hope that you can feel it too...if not today, maybe
next time, some other best time.

And for the first time, baby, I feel love.
