Moment when I was Hooked II

- by Anton S.| Anton.S@csscotland.net

I was around 16 in 1984, and
had already a fairly good U2 record collection, I had only one thing to do
to become a real fan....see them live. After the release of 'the tree' in
1987 I (along with a few friends) made my move. U2 played Glasgow summer of
'87 midweek, and what a show. In those days U2 played loud, I mean way
loud...like what would be illegaly loud nowadays, and it was that mixture of
celtic passion, raw power and imagination which was evident on stage that
night which hooked me until this day. Looking back ....... waiting 22 hrs to
buy a ticket for Zoo TV does seem a bit excessive, as does travelling 500
miles to buy 'A Day Without Me' single just for the b-side (Things To Make
And Do).....why do I do it ?.....I dunno really.......guess Im a
geek.....LOL.......whats your excuses folks ?
