Cruising the Leek arm of the Caldon Canal at Longsdon

Started in 1776 the Caldon Canal was completed by the end of 1777 and was built to promote commerce and bring extra water to the Trent & Mersey Canal to which it was linked. The great potter Josiah Wedgewood was one of it's instigators.
