The Currencies of Kaladia

are, at present, not nearly as terribly diverse and confusing as they were before the Dark Wars. Once the Corlennian Empire had conquered of most of Kaladia, nearly all the coinage of other countries was melted and reminted as Corlennian currency. So despite all of the evil which the Empire wrought, it did institute standardized currencies throughout much of the continent.

As Kaladia's countries began regaining their independence from the Corlennians, several nations commissioned new currencies to commemorate their freedom. But Corlennian denominations continue to dominate merchant trade, and remain the generally preferred currency in many countries.

The new coinage of the era of deliverance is minted by only a handful of countries. There are few who have chosen to justify the cost of manufacturing new dies, and enjoy sufficient economic stability to finance such an expensive undertaking. Each of these countries mints its own variety of denominations of currency. As a rule, the values, when traded honestly, will exchange evenly regardless of the domain in which the transaction is being conducted. Of course, honesty does not always prevail in savage realms or evil lands.
