There's a little matter of a hole in the end of the sword, so a drill must be used to drill a huge hole in the back to make the sword correct and exact. The initial metal piece is too thin, and so some extra cardboard is added to bulk up the blade, and the entire area is sealed off to give it a uniform shape. Continuing on the handle, it is tightened up and the underlying grip is added. After a few steps we get to this point, finishing of the hilt complete with purple gems, and the addition of a scabbard, which should fit the blade snugly. Decorative tassels and string knotting are done in the traditional Chinese way, since the sword is supposed to be Chinese in origin.
