EVA IS AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL
It's down to the final three: Amanda , the 25-year-old mother from Hendersonville, North Carolina, Yaya, the 21-year-old Ivy League grad from Harlem and Eva , the 19-year old student from Los Angeles, California. Though pressure gives way to camaraderie and the three girls bond, Amanda is the first to feel the sting of goodbye, leaving Eva and Yaya to battle to the end. Following the last challenge and an emotional final panel, Tyra announces the winner of America's Next Top Model: Eva.

WHO'S THE REAL COVER GIRL?
As the final elimination looms, each girl is presented with her own special challenge. Amanda needs to prove her style goes beyond quirky. Eva must show she has as much stature as the other girls. Yaya has to demonstrate that she can be regal and relatable at the same time.

At first, it feels a little like two-against-one as Amanda and Yaya leave Eva to twist in the wind. Yaya admits as much: "If there were anything we could do to make Eva more comfortable I don't think we would."

Tyra arrives to let the girls know how she feels about all the actresses hogging the covers of fashion magazines. "It's time to make room for a Cover Girl." She explains the winner of the contest will have her shot appear in a magazine.

The shoot is for Wet Slicks Crystals from CoverGirl. The pose? To rest delicately on zen rocks that lie atop a still pool. Amanda realizes how close she is to her dream as she reflects, "It's gone from what do I want to do to being on the precipice of doing it." Her smile is filled with "approachable energy," pleasing the Japanese photographer Ryu Tamagawa. As she rocks the shoot, she says, "I was trying to utilize my inner joy. My appreciation for bunny rabbits and France." And the result is a "piping hot plate of smile."

Eva knows she has no room for error. Jay reflects on Eva's development as she poses, recalling, "When I met Eva, she was a tough girl who came out to serve. Slowly she has let the wall come down." Yaya follows Eva's glittering performance, making it three-for-three. Jay is impressed. "Before today I didn't think any of the three girls had it but they really stepped up."

After the shoot the girls are introduced to prominent Japanese designer Noriko Fukushima, who shows them an array of dresses for her upcoming fashion show. These are the dresses that two of the girls will wear when they advance to the final two.

THE ICE QUEEN IS BANISHED
The Tyra Mail calling the girls to panel makes everyone more nervous than ever. Alongside the regular judges is Noriko Fukushima. Nigel calls Amanda's best shot "cute", and Nolé thinks it's "amazing," while Janice adds in "lovely, scrumptious and beautiful." Nigel seems to be the most impressed: "You really have connected with the camera, connected with the audience." After the praising of Amanda's photo, Tyra gently chides her for wearing her glasses. "What designer would let you walk down the runway with your glasses? It's just not realistic."

Yaya is next to walk the plank and while she never had too many detractors, her fans are now even more effusive in their praise. Nigel lets her know that it's "lovely to see her caught on film." Yaya says her inspiration comes from thinking about how her little brother makes her laugh.

Tyra says that Eva's skin looks "amazing" and Janice adds, "Skin like honey." Through her translator Noriko says, "It really looks like the smile comes from within and this picture makes me happy." Like Jay before her, Tyra has to take back earlier skepticism. "I said you guys weren't ready--these pictures prove us wrong."

The girls are sent out of the room and the judges have to deliberate. Of Amanda Nolé quips, "The ice queen has completely melted away and a beautiful woman has come out." Nigel thinks her personal style and presence might be lacking: "She needs to look as good in person as she does in her photographs."

Eva's photo appears and Nolé gushes. He says, "This is the girl every girl in America wants to know and wants to be." Janice thinks Eva might not be chic enough.

Nobody argues about Yaya's beauty. Nigel says, "Yaya is one of the most beautiful girls we've had. She's elegant. She's regal. She's arrogant." Janice rushes to her defense, telling Nigel not to hold that against her.

The decision has Tyra flummoxed. "I'm shaking you guys," she tells her colleagues. The girls are called back in and hope for the best while preparing themselves for the worst. Tyra stands before the final three, pulls a shot and Yaya advances to the finals. After Yaya has a moment with Tyra, Eva and Amanda step forward.

Tyra explains to them how they each have what the other needs. "You two are a very interesting duo." To Amanda she says, "You have edgy…fierce…hot…. fashion amazing-ness." To Eva she remarks on her presence and vivaciousness. "You guys are incomplete packages. The judges think, in the short time left, one of you might be able to pull it together." With that, Tyra draws Eva the Diva's picture and Eva immediately breaks down crying. Amanda gulps, composes herself and moves on. She shares a tender moment with Yaya before she walks out the door.

As she looks back on her Top Model experience, Amanda cannot keep the tears from falling. "I wanted to win so I could get the one hundred thousand dollar contract and buy a house." She has no regrets and feels like she showed that "people who have disabilities or shortcomings can work through it and find joy in everything."

FROM HATER TO RELATER
Neither Eva nor Yaya have any difficulty in finding the irony they are the final two. Eva breaks it down, saying it's "either the tomboy or the Afro-centric one." For a moment they dance around each other but the barriers quickly fall away. Eva says, "What I'm learning about Yaya is that she has her defenses up but that there is a sweet person underneath that." Yaya sees the good in Eva: "I'm finally able to see a little bit of her for who she is."

It's time for the final one-on-one with Tyra and Eva goes first. She puts it on the line, asking, "What do you see in me that shows you that I have so much potential?" Tyra replies, "A girl that is very troubled that is trying to be better. It's not about perfection but striving to improve ourselves." This pushes Eva to tears. She tells Tyra, "There isn't a testimony without a test."

Yaya sits down for her moment with Tyra. She wrestles with her pride as she talks with Tyra. "It's natural for me to want to be proud." Tyra explains, "I'm still a black woman, representing beauty to people that never really thought a black woman was beautiful."

THE CATWALK GOES ZEN
Eva's very excited for the final fashion show. She says, "I know I can walk." When they meet Jay he quickly clarifies, "This is not a show for you two. This is a real show." Both girls take a look at the stage and it's not your average runway: it's got corners! Jay explains that is going to be a very Japanese style show, slow and somber, and Miss J. walks to show them what Mr. Jay is talking about.

It's show time. All the judges take a front row seat with Miss J. sporting a kimono. Yaya is first to walk. "Walking out, feeling them watching, it was exhilarating." Eva has to modify her sass. "I like to walk strong and this show doesn't allow that." At the last moment Eva and Yaya nearly collide…but don't.

As the show winds down, each is confident. Yaya says, "My chances of winning are very good." They are stunned to learn that from the show they are to go directly to panel.

THE LAST JUDGMENT
Yaya and Eva emerge all dolled up in front of the final panel--Nigel, Janice, Tyra and Nolé. Tyra explains there is no guest judge as these four know them best. "We know your strengths, we know your weaknesses."

They roll video of the fashion show and Yaya is first. Nigel says, "I was breathless. You looked beautiful." Nolé is more reserved: "You were technical. You lacked personality." Janice concurs, "Your look was zombie. Glacial."

Eva fares a little better. Nigel is impressed that Eva's personality showed through. "You had the Zen and a little bit of swagger." Tyra doesn't let Eva get off that easy, saying, "You looked a little bit like an egret."

Then, in preparation for the final judgment, the four judges and the two remaining contestants review every photo from week one. Nigel admits he liked Yaya from the first shoot they did in Jamaica and he's not afraid to tell her that. Eva turned up the heat at the alter-ego shoot, causing Janice to gush, "Drop dead knockout Betty Grable, Rita Hayworth." Both of the girls dazzled the judges with their diamond and spider shot and Tyra was very impressed with Yaya when they were posing in lingerie and selling mobile phones. She says, "You were taking notes in your head when I was posing."

As they arrive at the final photos, Janice cannot hold back her enthusiasm. "Eva Diva, this is Eva Diva extraordinaire. Girl, you were slamming." Tyra's praise is spread evenly. She says, "The Cover Girl's motto is good girl with a wink. Both of you would make it."

IT'S ALL ABOUT EVA THE DIVA
The girls are sent from the room and the final deliberation begins. Nigel feels Yaya has an "old-fashioned look," while Eva "has a look I see more of right now." Tyra is impressed at Yaya's fluidity even though she has never modeled. Janice adds, "I'm more prone to Yaya's refinement." In the end, Nigel feels torn. "I have instincts that say Yaya. Another side says Eva."

The girls are called back in. Tyra brings them into the present reminding them that in a moment the girl that she calls will be America's Next Top Model. Eva can barely contain herself. "This feeling is so overwhelming," she says.

Tyra begins, "You two are so different. Both of you have strengths and weaknesses." To Yaya she says, "You went from a girl that was all strut to someone who was likable and relatable. We kicked that chip right up off your shoulder and now you stand before me radiant and a true model." To Eva she recalls the earlier days of, "'I'm gonna' hate on you before you hate on me.' Now a real model stands before me."

Tyra pauses, drawing out the suspense. Finally, she says, "Eva."

Eva is hysterical, overcome with emotion. "I am a Cover Girl." Through her tears she says how her dream has come true. "This little tomboy who has never been beautiful, now I'm America's Next Top Model. I get to represent all the little girls everywhere that feel the way I feel." Then she punches it, "Watch out world--here comes Eva!"
