WWII Online | What's up with the Beta? February 02, 2001
By: Mystery
According to Chris Sherland, Game Developer for WWII Online, the Phase V Beta has been delayed:

My bad for sure on this one. We were fairly confident that Phase V would be ready before the end of the month, and in fact it's running here now. It's just not refined enough for release, and that's nobody's fault, it's just how fast the code goes I jumped the gun in letting that January estimate out, I made a bad call there.

The confidence here is high, and we thought the end of the month was no problem, but alas, integration of the strat system, the mission system, and map technologies have turned out to be quite a bite.

You can read the beginnings and endings of the discussion forum thread here, with Chris' post somewhere about 60% of the way down.

Ultima WO: Origin | Back on Top February 02, 2001
By: Mystery
Stuffing the ballot box has never been so much fun. According to PC Gamer's March 2001 edition of Waiting is the hardest part, UWO: Origin has once again made the top of the list, with, of course, the rabid fans of Shadowbane pushing that particular title to 2nd place.

These polls seem so...meaningful...don't they?

By: Mystery
Yet another review of EIA, this one from a reader of Lum the Mad, gets some good juicy bits flowing:

In contrast, the next panel seemed to illustrate an absolute dichotomy of thought on entertainment.

NeverWinter Nights | Q&A February 02, 2001
By: Mystery
The good folks over at GA RPG got a chance to sit down with the Rob Bartel from Bioware. Here's a little of what he had to say:

Neverwinter Nights is progressing steadily but we’ve certainly come to recognize the sheer amount of effort it takes to pull off a project of this scope. As for where we’re at right now, the system itself is almost in place. We have a graphics engine, we have most of the underlying system in place for a rules engine, we have a solid networking layer, our interface is becoming increasingly present and functional, the basic art content is almost complete, and the Neverwinter Toolset will soon reach a point where the Design Team can start making final game content.

You can see the rest of the interview here.

Can anyone with an ounce of artistic talent, please, help out the folks over at Magique Productions?

RPG Planet just posted 7 screenshots (many of which we've seen already). You can see them here, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Asheron's Call | New Mote Contest February 02, 2001
By: Mystery
The Solclaim Photo Album has restarted their mote contest. Here are the rules:

Due to low submissions we are now reinstating the mote contest! If you send a photo of yourself for the album between now and February 15th, you will be entered into a drawing for a free mote! Remember, you must be on Solclaim and it must be a picture of YOU, not your in-game character or something else. I will announce later if there will be more drawings for previous entries.

Thanks to AC Corner for picking this up.
