Angithi is a Hindi (Indian) word and it means Clay oven. In the past, cooking was done in these types of oven in India. Due to unavailability of gas and electricity the main source of energy for these oven was coal. The oven was lighted early in the morning and was left outside in the open for the coal to get ignited and hot. The food cooked on these types of oven had a different flavor and it tasted very tasty. As time passed by and gas, electricity became easily available everywhere, these types of oven are very hard to find and are now usually found in rural villages in some part of India. So now you have an idea what has Angithi to do with Angithi.com. We are not suggesting to do it the hard way, but if you follow the easy instructions you should be able to prepare a delicious meal for someone you care, love, or want to please. Most of the recipes and tips are based on actual food prepared at home. The main purpose of this site was to share the tasty recipes with all of you.
