Vampyress' Crystal Magick page consists of a detailed easy - to - use definition of each Crystal and what that particular Crystal's Magickal use is! Crystals represent the unity of the four elements (Vampyress' MAGICKAL TERMS). They are formed in the Earth and contain earthly minerals. They are related to water in their molecular structure. They transmit an electric charge, called a piezo-electric charge (relating them to fire). They are similar to air in that they allow light to pass through. Crystals embody the elements of the Earth, as well as the elements within us. When you possess a crystal, you possess all elements of creation. Crystals have been used in magick for ever and each one has its own healing abilities and unique qualities. Crystals amplify energy that is around them and when used in rituals (Vampyress' RITUAL and SPELL Page) can amplify the intentions of energy that is focused on them. Crystals used in ritual should have their own little bag but if you like to keep them around your home or office make sure you cleanse them from time to time as they can pick up negative energy quite easily. Crystals have been known to have healing powers for centuries. Not only do we use quartz in our watches and lodestone for magnets, past cultures show evidence of belief in crystals as far back as Neolithic man, whose remains have been found carrying pieces of amber.
Crystals are nature's gift to help us transform and heal ourselves and can be used in many ways. Stones and Crystals in particular give us a sense of cosmic security in a rapidly changing world because they represent a solid, living, indestructible, and absolute reality. Indeed, crystals and gemstones are very much alive, and can assist us in our magical work should ever the need arise.
I am very attracted to some stones and repelled by others. Even if someone recommends a particular stone for you, if you don't like it, it isn't going to help. Paying attention to the stone's/crystals that attract you when you have a particular question or need in mind is probably the most reliable way to select the stone you need for that purpose. Wearing crystals as jewelry is both effective and attractive way to utilize their healing properties or supply specific energies requires to cope with every day life. AMBER - *a favorite* Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, wrote about the many healing powers of Amber. This stone sends out a sunny and calming energy and because of this it is an excellent stone for those that suffer from depressions and have suicidal tendencies. ANDALUSITE - Balance for the root and heart chakra, stimulates past memories, re-alignment and centering of self

ANGELITE- This crystal helps us to be in touch with angels and animal guides, as well as assisting in distant communication with other humans. Calming, stabilize emotions and ease anxiety and stress. APHRODITE - Nammed for the Goddess, this pink stone is useful in love magick. AZEZTULITE - Most concentrated energy, considered a power stone, helps achieve higher state, serenity.

AZURITE - A dark blue stone which can heal emotional trauma, confusion, blocks, and negativity. This stone is also useful in working with spirit guides, animal guides, and the Goddess. Biotite may also be used to heal ailments of the eyes. BLIZZARD STONE - magnetic qualities protects our fields, helps to recall past lives

BLOODSTONE - *a favorite* all purpose healer and cleanser, this stone is associated with the Heart Chakra (love). Increases physical strength and promotes courage and healing. CALCITE (BLUE) - Calming Communication. Like all the calcites, blue calcite helps to release the rigidities that prevent people from being able to see their lives and its challenges from an expanded perspective. Its particular area of focus is the throat center, relating to creativity and communication. It helps to assist in fostering positive communication between those with opposing views. It helps one to release a rigid point of view and listen to the opinions of others without resistance. Its cooling color also helps people to express their beliefs and opinions calmly, without anger. This stone helps ease joint pain and unlock the underlying reason for discomfort.

CALCITE (BROWN) - This acts as a stabilizer when your faced with conflicting priorities, so it's a wonderful stone for parents and business people.

CHIASTOLITE - Also known as "cross stone", protection stone, turns dissention into harmony, helpful when in a state of change, balances one's perception.

CHRYSOLITE - Inspiration, prophecy, balances perspectives. Usually olive green and sometimes yellow or brown. Wear to prevent fevers and to prevent nightmares.

It is also a helpful stone to use in creating a bond of trust with the Goddess. alleviates greed, hysteria and selfishness, depression, promotes sexual organ strength. Induces peaceful and relaxing sleep, unlocks blocked emotions. This apple-green stone is often overlooked in crystal information. I feel that it is an essential one for creating prosperity. Its basic quality is that of emotional uplifting. Traditionally related to the solar plexus, it can be placed there to help release emotional tension and stress. It is believed to attract abundance and to help in success in new ventures. I have noticed that wearing a favorite chrysoprase pendant is invariably successful in drawing prosperity to me. CITRINE QUARTZ - Wear this stone at night to help prevent nightmares and to have a good night's sleep. Helps to tap into user's power to give energy to magick. Can be used as a good luck stone. Helps to increase self-esteem. An excellent stone to use for promoting creativity and wealth. Also good for psychic awareness and protection. cleanses vibrations in the atmosphere, Citrine is one of the only stones which dissipates negative energy, and never requires cleansing or clearing, creativity, helps personal clarity, will bring out problems in the solar plexus and the heart, eliminates self-destructive tendencies. Citrine is one of the few stones that never need cleansing as it does not collect negativity. A survivor's stone, it imparts courage when the chips are really down. The crystal brings wisdom for making good decisions and helps remove self-imposed obstacles. Citrine, a form of quartz, ranges in color from a lemony yellow to a golden brown. A crystal that relates to the energy of the sun, it is warming, and energizing. It is associated with the navel-solar plexus chakra, which is the center of physical power and manifestation. It reminds us that abundance is unlimited and that it is our birthright. To attract prosperity requires us to use our personal power. To live up to our highest ideals requires that we use this energy wisely: not to attract abundance in a way which takes away from others, but rather in a way which can help open up the possibility of prosperity to others. Citrine helps us to use personal power wisely. It is the stone of unselfish energy, giving out lovingly and willingly to others.

CLEAR QUARTZ - *a favorite* This stone has the ability to be programmed with the powers of ANY OTHER STONE, and then substituted for that stone in any ritual. Great for psychism and as a general magickal power amplifier. Can be used to relieve headaches therefore it is associated with the brow chakra. Creative visualization (see below), balancing to help reduce fevers and calm toothaches. Great for use in building a magick circle. MOQUI MARBLES/SHAMAN STONES - These strange Ironstone concretions are found at the base of the Navajo Sandstone formation. The Moqui Indians that inhabited the Southwest used these small balls for marble-like games and in slings for hunting. The centers are filled with hard packed sandstone and the outer surface is a composite of iron, phosphorus, and lime. How they were formed and what caused their unusual rounded shapes remain a puzzle. There are various theories as to their formation and some scientists believe them to be from 130 to 155 million years old. Their energies are somewhat like those of Boji Stones. Cleaning Your Crystals:

Before you use a crystal that you have chosen (or that has chosen you), it is important that you clean it. Everyone who has previously touched your crystal has left a little bit of their energy on it. While not usually strong enough to prevent the crystal's own energies from getting to you, these energy deposits may reduce the ability of a crystal to "take a charge."
It is also important to clean a crystal after you have used it for a particular purpose. Crystals get tired just like the rest of us do, and they are as rejuvenated by cleaning as we are when we take a bath after a long day at work.
There are several ways to clean a crystal. When doing any of them, be sure to visualize all negative energies being taken away from the crystal and it being restored to its fullest strength and vitality. Keep in mind that crystals set in jewelry may do better with some techniques - like bathing, visualization and other stronger techniques like grounding or smudging.

WAYS TO CLEANSE YOUR CRYSTALS:

VISUALIZING:
When you need to clean a crystal in a hurry, this is the way to do it. Ground and center yourself. Visualize Earth energy coming through your feet, and root chakra and Light energy coming down through your crown chakra. Have the two energies flow up and down your spine and then flow down your arms and into your hands. Hold the crystal in your hands and visualize the energies from your hands flowing into the crystal and transmuting all negative energies into positive ones. Do this until the crystal feels clean and "full," and the cleaning process is complete.

SMUDGING:
Smudging uses the elements of fire and water, with the energies of the herb burned, to cleanse and rejuvenate the crystal. Sage is the herb most commonly used. The sage is lit, and the crystal is passed through the smoke. The technique works well with "sturdy" stones, but should be avoided with clear, faceted stones or stones set in jewelry.

SUNNING or MOONING:
You can also clean a crystal by putting it on a window sill and allowing it to spend some time with the Sun and Moon energies. You might have a preference of Sun or Moon depending on the purpose for which you will use the crystal, but either or both with work for general cleansing and rejuvenation. Do keep in mind that some stones, like rose quartz will fade if they are exposed to direct sunlight for very long. The length of time you leave them out is up to you, and, of course, the crystal in question.

GROUNDING or EARTH METHOD:
There are several different ways to clean a crystal by grounding. The easiest way is to bury the crystal in the Earth, either outside, in the ground, or inside, in the soil around a potted plant. If you choose outside, make sure you remember where you put the crystal! If you choose the inside, make sure the plant is healthy so the crystal doesn't spend its time trying to heal the plant when it is supposed to be resting and recharging. You can also ground a crystal by putting it on a bed of sea salt or a clear quartz cluster, sea salt is one of my favorites!

The focus here is on particular oils that have cleaning/clearing properties. The most economical method for using oils is to place crystals in a container, fill it with filtered water as you would for the salt water method, and put a drop or two of essential oil into the water. Lemon: This has a purifying effect and, on a practical level, cuts grease. Juniper: Like juniper in a smudge stick, juniper oil has the ability to help release any negative vibrations. Lavender: If you've been doing any kind of intense emotional work with your crystals, lavender oil has a calming and balancing effect. Put some on yourself, too. The previous methods can work well for large quantities of crystals. The following methods are better for individual crystals or small quantities of small crystals.

SAGE TEA:
Take fresh sage if available and brew a pot of light tea; allow it to cool. Place your crystals in a bowl (use glass if possible) and pour the cooled tea over them. If you want, leave them in the sage tea overnight. Then remove them and rinse with clean, pure water. Since there are chemicals in most water systems you may prefer to use a gallon of distilled water. If you can safely place crystals outside for nature to cleanse that is perfect, though you'll need to be able to distinguish which stones cleanse best by moonlight and which stones cleanse best by solar.

REIKI:
Using Reiki itself or in combination with visualization (view above) can be effective in clearing your crystals. If you're Reiki Level I hold the crystal in your hand and simply Reiki it. If you're Reiki II you can also draw the mental/emotional symbol over your crystals.

Charging a crystal empowers the crystal to aim its energies toward a particular goal or function. Before you begin to charge your crystal, it is a good idea to simply spend a little time with it so it will be able to function more compatibly with the processes in your body which will lead you to your goal. Charging can be done by either ritual or non-ritual situations. Although the ritual charging may be more formal, the procedures are really the same. Before beginning the charging process, make sure that the purpose you have in mind for the crystal will have no result that harms anyone. Then pray to the God, Goddess or Spirit to aid you in your work and assist you in communicating with the crystal. While holding the crystal in your hands, clearly visualize the goal of your use for this crystal. You might even project your image of the goal into the crystal itself. Maintain contact with the crystal while visually it achieving its purpose for as long as you are able, or until the crystal reflects the goal back to you. Once you feel the energy of your goal reflected back to you, you are ready to use the crystal to help you achieve your goal.
