Posting Requirements
Writing Checks will be Performed every Two Weeks by the BoD:
***We understand things like holidays, vacations, exams, hectic work weeks, emergencies, and unforeseeable circumstances. Again, we are reasonable, we just ask that ALL writers be courteous and at least attempt some communication to the BoD or a member who can let others know. (See Rule 3)
That said, If you KNOW you are going to be offline for a large period in advance then please, either send your character off somewhere else or ask someone to borrow them for a while.
In the case of one character fulfilling two requirements (Eg Goldrider AND Weyrwoman) - then then larger posting rate ONLY is applicable. However, if you have, for example, a bronzerider and a goldrider, you would have to fill the requirements for EACH of these characters, USING the characters.
Six (6) Posts Every Two Weeks
Weyrleader, Weyrwoman, Headwoman, Weyrlingmaster, Candidatemaster, Goldriders, Bronzeriders, Wingleaders, Wingseconds, Master Crafters
**Note, if there are no weyrlings or candidates, the WM or CM may post according to dragon color/craft rank.
Four (4) Posts Every Two Weeks
Journeyman crafters, Assistant Weyrlingmasters, Assistant Candidatemasters, Brownriders, Blueriders, Greenriders, Pets (The actual PETS, not necessarily the owners... and this includes impressed pets suchs as firelizards and whers)
Every other character. This pans out to about 2 posts per week. Why HAVE a character if you don't play it at all?
Post is defined as: More than 3 good-sized sentences of something substantial. It can be a standalone, but should not be a mass reply that is a standalone.
Consequences
1) Warning
2) depending upon severity, this action may be skipped
Warning and badgering. *EG*
The following consequences ALL have a two-week grace period. Ranks will NOT be filled by PC characters until the two weeks after they have been taken from a character, and if the writer posts faithfully during these two weeks, (s)he has a VERY good shot at regaining the rank:
3)four-six weeks Removal of ranks, where applicable (including pets!). This simply means that you still own the character, but (s)he does not have the rank/pet (s)he did.
4) four-eight weeksTemporary character suspension, BoD NPC. This is reserved for rankings that we can't take away from a character (mainly, riders). This means these characters cannot be played by the writer during this time, and must be earned either through playing of a secondary character of the writer faithfully or a detailed Explanation to the BoD as to WHY this writer has failed repeatedly in not writing. IF needed, the character might be played SPARINGLY by the BoD, though the necessity of this isn't expected.
5) six-eight weeksMaking a character NPC, or removal of character. LAST resort action. This is one the writer has seemed to disappear completely. The original writer must follow all procedures any other writer would in order to regain this character, though preference will be given to the original writer.
*** Note, if SEVERAL writers are unable to write because ONE person has been missing for several days without prior notice, the BoD reserves the right to help the thread along. The amount of days depends on the number of writers and importance of the plot. (If the fate of the Weyr is at stake, the wait may only be three days, but if it's merely a recreational conversation, the BoD may not step in at all.)
