From Bungle Gully to Longreach (via Charleville for fuel) took us 3 hours and 10 minutes in quite hot conditions for October. Unfortunately, at Longreach we missed a river tour as the weather turned dark and stormy - not conducive to an open air river cruise at night. However, we were able to fit in a visit to the renowned Stockman's Hall of Fame and the Qantas Aviation museum, and get a taste for the life in this country as we wandered. After a couple of days in Longreach, it was on to the coast to catch up with family - first at Noosa/ Eumundi via Caloundra (which took 4 hours!) then to Coolangatta (a nice easy 1 hour flight).

After a three day stay, we had but a 3 hour flight back to Sydney's Bankstown airport. On this trip, we had experienced the delights of both inland NSW and Queensland (including a visit to Dubbo before Bungle Gully), and the coast of Queensland from the air.
