Port Arthur was an eerie reminder of past (and future) horrors, but the beauty of its location is staggering, and well worth the visit. Remains of an old church at Port Arthur View worth beholding - Port Arthur Unfortunately, as we neared Hobart, the weather closed in and prevented our anticipated enjoyment of Freycinet Peninsula. Further north, we were able to enjoy investigating the beauty and wonder of the eastern coastline. Then, we headed west again, across from St Helens towards Scottsdale, and back to Launceston for the trip to King Island. The mist shrouds the northeast around Scottdale The hop to King Island took 1 hour 20 mins, again with blustery conditions to greet us. Just a taste here of the lifestyle, the great food and wonderful hospitality, with a vow to return someday for a longer expedition. Renowned for its dairy produce, seafood and good company, King Island lived up to all our expectations. Our final mission was to fly back via the Twelve Apostles along the Great Ocean Road of Victoria's southern coastline. Here we practiced our photographic skills as we scooted along the coastline with video and still camera in hand - just to prove to Mark we could actually find them! A misty view of the Twelve Apostles - the video was much better!
