From Alice Springs we drove to Uluru, staying at the resorts now set well away from Ayers Rock (Uluru) and the Olgas. In past visits, we had been able to fly right beside the Rock. Once again, we were hypnotised by the lure of climbing Ayers Rock, and we set out in the early morning for the climb; also revisiting it at sunset to try to capture elusive magic moments on film. The Olgas (Kata Tjuta) also have a haunting charm which everyone should experience, and many different trails to try.
Often the climb down the Rock is the hardest part...
One of the many views of Uluru (Ayers Rock)
