This was a trip for the family to see the sites of the heart of Australia. It
began with a flight to Darwin, followed by a Kombi ride to Timber Creek, then
into a light aircraft (Cessna 210) to fly over some of the wondrous country of
the outback.
DARWIN - TIMBER CREEK - LITCHFIELD - KUNUNURRA - ORD

Some of the highlights included:

|
Litchfield National Park with its magnetic termite
mounds, tropical vegetation and perfect swimming holes, such as Buley's
Rockhole above. This was cool (it was July!) and clear, and a great place to
take some time out.

An Ord River Cruise revealed wildlife close up - such as
Egrets nesting...
|

|

|
...crocodiles lurking and fruit bats dangling... |
Spectacular reflections left lasting impressions. |

Our guide on the Ord River Cruise displays the difference between a
freshwater crocodile and a salt water croc (on the right). I wouldn't like to
argue with either of them!
