Section A: Feminism, and why it's neccesary. MEN ARE ARSE. Thats why feminism is neccesary. Duh. (This is from my LJ) "Do guys get that feeling? When they see someone they like? I mean, it's this amazing energy and nervousness and insane happiness exploding through you at an alarming rate, and everything tingles and for those 10 seconds when it's new it's like the entire world has fallen away around you and everythings fine. I miss that feeling so much...It feels like everything inside of you is just *magic* and you're *magic* and everyone would be able to see who you really are underneath all your pretension and walls...DO guys get that? Really...I can't imagine they do, or they wouldn't be able to throw it all away so easily...or ignore it. They need ovaries; and tits; then they'd understand. It is our body expressing it's deep dark need for babies! *make lots and lots of babies and feel good about yourself in the process*" Croline182: /me is dammit why doesnt roland call her?!?! grumpygirlusa: /me is duh not done this in like a month grumpygirlusa: aawwwwwww! grumpygirlusa: /me calls lina Croline182: lmao Croline182: pretend to be roland? grumpygirlusa: 'hello lina *eh erm* caroline, this is *eh erm* roland' Croline182: why does one of the only people that i could say i want to spend every minute of every day with, NOT want to talk to me..?? Croline182: /me wails grumpygirlusa: OKIES grumpygirlusa: 1) men are ARSE grumpygirlusa: and NEVER WORK WHEN YOU ARE AT THEIR JOB AND HOW THE HELL DO THE EXPECT TO GET LUCKY IF YOU AREN"T AROUND?!?!? grumpygirlusa: /me rants Croline182: /me thinks ranting in capitals is GENIUS Croline182: /me thinks we should just post convo grumpygirlusa: GENIUS Croline182: rofl Croline182: men are ARSE Croline182: where was the number two, rofl grumpygirlusa: there was no number two! THEY are number two!! grumpygirlusa: /me is obviously 6 years old Obviously they don't and thats why we're here whinging and complaining. If we were all LESBIANS none of this would be a problem; but for some *insane* reason many of us are not. God was not a woman, or 'She' would have made it easier for us girls. Somehow we need to break free of the need for that delicate tender feeling that love brings to you; not platonic love, because as wonderful as that is, it's not a replacement for the little humming bird you have in your chest when you're deep down in love with someone. Right now I think I miss the feeling more than the person. After that humming bird has been crushed it can feel like you're dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. and on that happy note we move onto teen angst music. Exhibit B: Teen Angst Music, and why we love it. Teenage Angst and its Remedies.. Rated on a scale of 1 - 5 tear drops. One being least depressing, 5 being most. There is nothing better when you are depressed (over men, bleeeurgh) than making yourself even more so. Wallow in self-pity, wallow in it! Do not on any account try to cheer yourself up, get in the spirit.. break out the paracetamol, the razor blades, and your Deftones albums, and here we go: .:Deftones - Be Quiet & Drive The queen (or king) of teen angsty songs, this one ASKS you to slit your wrists. Not so much a song to be sad to.. just be kick-ass angry :) .:Ben Folds Five - Brick This is a sad song, not an angry one. Striking because of the juxtaposition of brick and a girl, an inanimate thing versus a living thing of beauty... and yay we get to make a guy drown! So they should - drown them all! .:Bush - Letting the Cables Sleep Angsty because its Bush, depressing.. Gavins voice oozes melancholy - he should play Hamlet. The helplessness (weirdo ssss word) of the song is so apparent through "whatever" and "its alright" - good song to listen to in bed as you fall asleep. .:Counting Crows - Colorblind Mainly because of the whole Cruel Intentions thing, which makes me cry SO much "I don't love you Annette...You don't mean that Sebastian, look at you - you're shaking!" /me dies And the words "I am fine" - how many times do you answer that to people around you when you really just want to curl up and die? .:Extreme - More Than Words Classic song, again more just a sappy one than angsty, but still good when you're feeling all depressed about jerk-off guys.. ok, so thats all of them. .:Goo Goo Dolls - Iris Another depressing one, because of its beginning.. "And I'd give up forever to touch you/Because I know that you feel me somehow/You're the closest to heaven that I'll be/And I don't wanna go home right now/And all I can taste is this moment/And all I can breathe is your life/And sooner or later its over/I just don't want to miss you tonight" How profound :) .:HIM/Chris Isaak - Wicked Games This is a cool song, because its an opposition to my mood generally - for once the girl is being an asshole, and it kinda reminds you that guys sometimes (once in a million chance) get shit on.. but its a very sexy song, which is cool. .:Jessica Riddle - Angels This reminds me of "10 Things I Hate About You" which ALWAYS makes me cry, its one of the few sappy movies that I actually like. And Heath Ledger is HOT. But, apart from being in the movie, this is a sweet love song - not too depressing, but a little sad. .:Matchbox 20 - Rest Stop Made me cry the first time I heard it.. and the second, oh and the third. The openness and honesty of it is what hits you.. "When it came to mind, that I didn't care". Its upsetting, and makes you pity the singer as if that actually happened. Did it? /me asks Rob (Thomas) .:Paula Cole - Don't Want To Wait Aww, Dawsons Creek, makes me cry ALL the time. Not angsty, just sad because of the memory of the program, Paula's melancholy voice.. the words aren't exactly deep, I think its the brevity of them which means it can make you sad without much concentration. .:Splender - I Think God Can Explain This is a cool song, another oldie, was also on the Dawsons Creek soundtrack. Its about being bitter and twisted but putting a fairly brave face on it, so it really only sounds a little sad and upset.. "Its so damn sweet of you to look me in the eyes/Its alright I'm okay I think God can explain/I believe I'm the same I get carried away/Its alright I'm okay I think God can explain/I'm relieved I'm relaxed I'll get over it yeah" Same as the Bush song, the mellowness of the words "alright", "okay", "relieved" and "relaxed" make it seem so much more depressing.. like brings you down slowly. .:Staind - It's Been A While This is a striking song because its not the sort of stuff Staind usually do, so it really stands out. But the fact they usually do heavy stuff means its still angsty and angry in some places, but just steady and melancholy in others. The tone his voice takes on in places really emphasise the sadness.. "Why must I feel this way?/Just make this go away/Just one more peaceful day" and "Its been a while since I've gone and fucked things up just like I always do/And its been a while, but all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you" Ending with "Sorry" makes the song seem so much sadder. .:U2 - With Or Without You The classic depressing song. Played in Friends when Ross and Rachel were all depressed about each other, aww (and also cuz Joey and Chandler were arguing, blee) Storm..thorn..twist..nails.. angst words :) Bono's voice obviously adds to the angst, its quite waily in places. Speaks for itself really. .:VAST - Pretty When You Cry This is quite a creepy song..definitely angry and angsty, despite its steady start. The stalkery, serial killers element is what makes it so good. Sarah "Sarsh" McLachlan - Do What You Have To Do Any of the songs by Sarsh generally fit in here.. always speak of the perfect past and the not-so-perfect present, which is the key to our angst - something going wrong, when it seemed so right. The seemingly passive nature of the "narrator" in this song makes it sad.. and the listener realises that there is nothing that they can do to stop men being the ARSE that they naturally are! .:Stereophonics - Mr Writer The song is very slow and Kelly's voice makes it incredibly depressing.. but just listen to the line "I used to treat you right, give you my time/But when I turn my back on you, then you do what you do" and cry. He tells it like it really is :) .:Radiohead - Street Spirit This song is a kick in the groin. And beautiful. And disturbing. And enough to make you kill yourself. .:Matthew Good Band - Apparitions It is like a brain confusion song. It's sad cause when your friends go off without you; it's like a mental paranoia song, but also sad. |
