Staying
Your grace is enough,
God's Garden
Poems by Others
So much pressure from my peers
To think and act as they
"Just leave the one who doesn't care"
"It's dumb you fool to stay"
They think it ease to leave the one
Who doesn't care a bit
Who doesn't like me bein 'round
Much less of where I sit
"Don't give me flowers", she told me
Can't touch her arm or head
Can't say that I love her still
It's lonely here, I dread
But one thing that I have they don't
One thing I don't deserve
His loving grace to see me through
And help me learn to serve
His grace is overwhelming
My sin is overcome
By love uncomprehendable
I rest here, "Mercy's son"
I'm here because He loves me
And painful is my stay
Yet painful more would be my lot
If I would run away
Away from stress and sorrow
Away from hardship's road
Away from growing closer
To the One who bears my load
"Come to Me all you who thirst"
And now are weighed down low
"And I will give you peaceful rest"
My grace will help you grow
How much I'd miss if I ran
Away from pains alarms
'less I was running straight into
Grace in my Saviour's arms
Yes, it's hard to stay here
Where pain and sorrows dwell
But God has given me His grace
And grace, I will know well
"Let patience have it's perfect work
That you may be complete
Mature and lacking nothing"
Like love, grace is so sweet
I stay here not from pressure
For those I want to please
But for the love and grace of God
That brings me to my knees
