Grace From the Start

In the beginning God created
From nothing all that we see
The sun, moon and stars,even the sky
And waters for ocean and sea

He created the birds, fish and the mammals
Dinasaours, great and small
Flowers and plants, bushes and trees,
And insects that fly and that crawl

Then He took time and scooped up some earth
And fashioned it into a man
And breathed into him the breath of life
"In Our image" God said with a plan

But Adam and Eve had hidden themselves
Disobedience soon after the start
For they couldn't see nor understand why
The depth of the love in His heart

Before He created all that we see
Before He spoke word into light
He had a plan to offer His Son
To free men from darkness of night

So in the course of God's own time
He sent His Son to the earth
Born in a stable, announced by angels
The virgin Mary gave birth

Emmanuel, God is with us
Savior, Counselor and King
Appointed by God to die on the cross
O death, where is thy sting

Mercy and grace He offers to those
Called before they are yet born
Predestined to heaven, chosen by God
Where they will no longer mourn

I hope you can see more than Adam and Eve
That God has a plan in His heart
No A-plan or B-plan or C-plan or D
But one plan ordained from the start

Nothing can change God's plan don't you see
He knows from beginning to end
He knows those who will, He knows those who won't
And those He has chose to call friend

We stand before God as pure as the Light
But not by the things we have done
For He lived the life free without sin
Now righteous are we in the Son

By faith we are saved, by faith we are just
By faith we live in His grace
A true gift from God not earned or deserved
Forever to live face to face
