THE PEPSI 400-October 17, 1998- Daytona Beach FL.

THE RED FLAG!!

Jeff Gordon and Jeremy Mayfield were having a great race. With only a few laps left these 2 led the pack into the pits prior to the red flag for rain. .

During the red flag the drivers got out of their cars and talked amongst themselves. Here is Jeff Gordon, Jeremy Mayfield, Rusty Wallace and other drivers out of their cars. I would like to express my appreciation to the young woman who took these for me. Because there was such a crowd at the fence it was difficult to get clear shots.

This is my friend Chuck (left) and myself under the grandstand during the red flag. At this point we had been at the track for about 10 hours. I certainly know that I had a blast at this race.

Originally, I was supposed to take my step father along but he was not feeling well and I suggested that he not go because of the length of time we would be out there. Across the street was a neighbor who was a huge race fan and he excitedly accepted the tickets.

Here is Chuck and myself in front of HOOTERS and on Bill France Blvd. in front of the speedway entrance. Thanks to the Daytona Police for stopping traffic for us (NOT).

Do I have enough crap around my neck??? I did not think so. I had my scanner, a camera, a video camera and binoculars. I even had room for the official beer of NASCAR in my left hand. Contary to everyone else who was around I did not "have way too much going on"
