Come andTake It Race (1997)
Lake Wood Park to Gonzales, Texas

The Annual Come and Take It Race was sponsored by the Guadelupe-Blanco River Authority's Lake Wood Park staff. Race Director Mark Henneke served up great weather and a nice release from H-5 Dam.

Tim Rask led all racers down the Guadelupe River as Roger Myers snuck off to Brazil to avoid the big showdown with the peach fuzz kid. Ginsie Dunn led a good turnout of women paddlers.

Gail Gluckman and sister Lynn Gluckman squared off with Gail getting the best while powering Stricker down the course. Newcomer Lynn is every bit as pleasant as Gail to the delight of partner Loiza who wore extra special pair of blue knee high socks for the occasion.
