In Brief

When frustrated, down to earth Julia (Claire Forlani) suspects her Euro-model boyfriend of infidelity abroad, she sells all of his trendy clothes at an impromptu garage sale to pay the rent. But then Brent wangles his way back into her life professing his true love and Julia must go on a screwball chase to find Roy (Tim Quill), the good-natured cop to whom she sold Brent's clothes. What she finds is not only unexpected romance but a pair of hand-painted lamps to boot.

Along for this romantic romp are Julia's best friend Gwen (Lori Alan), Brent's skirt-chasing accomplice Mark (Kenny Johnson) and Roy's roommate Max (Nestor Carbonelli).

Bios:

Jeff Fisher

Director Jeff Fisher shot his first video in one day in Zuma Beach. The music video completed for a mere $500 went on to receive the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Music Video / Song Contest FIRST PLACE for a music video. GARAGE SALE represents Jeff's first effort in the feature film genre and clearly establishes his vision as a young director. "I thought the script had down to earth characters and was a real throwback to the romantic comedies of the 1940's. When Tom, Deborah and Claire came aboard things really started to come together." Jeff's other industry jobs include a two year stint at International Creative Management, extensive work in Casting and Crew on numerous features including CAPE FEAR and THE SHADOW.

Deborah Lee

Producer Deborah Lee started her career working with, among others, MAMA CASS and JIMI HENDRIX. She served as Unit Production Manager on such features as CAPE FEAR and MAD DOG AND GLORY and Line Produced MURDER IN THE FIRST and SUDDEN DEATH. Deborah most recently served as Executive Producer on GREAT EXPECTATIONS.

Tom Settle

Co-Producer Tom Settle began his career at Creative Artist Agency before moving to Prime Time Television development at Warner Bros. Tom is Vice President of television production and development for THE STEVE TISCH COMPANY, having recently produced the two-hour made-for-television film THE PEOPLE NEXT DOOR, starring Nicolette Sheridan and Faye Dunaway. "GARAGE SALE represents the efforts of a very talented cast and crew that all gave 110%, and Jeff who had a clear vision and passion that motivated us all."

Cormac and Marianne Wibberley

The husband and wife writing team of Cormac and Marianne most recently sold their spec script THE KID WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS to Walt Disney Pictures last year. Currently they are hard at work on their next feature MR. SNOWMAN.

Bios:

Claire Forlani (Julia)

British born Claire Forlani stars in GARAGE SALE as Julia, a young woman with all of the right intentions and the wrong guy. The 24-year-old Forlani followed GARAGE SALE with Juilan Schnabel's BASQUIAT playing the lead role of Gina Cardindale. Claire can currently be seen as Sean Connery's daughter in THE ROCK and opposite Keanu Reeves in the upcoming THE LAST TIME I COMMITTED SUICIDE. Claire also starred in Kevin Smith's MALLRATS.

Tim Quill (Roy)

Tim Quill is Roy the quintessential "cop with a heart of gold." Tim starred opposite Dermott Mulroney and Sean Astin in Lee Grant's STAYING TOGETHER. His other feature credits include LISTEN TO ME, opposite Roy Scheider, and John Irvin's HAMBURGER HILL. On television, Tim has been seen on NYPD BLUE, JAG, and HIGH TIDE.

Salvator Xuereb (Brent)

Salvator Xuereb plays Brent, Julia's more-style-than-substance boyfriend. Salvator has appeared in the features BARB WIRE, NATURAL BORN KILLERS and KILLING ZOE. On television, you can find Sal on episodes of MELROSE PLACE and HIGH TIDE. He has just completed a leading role in the feature LEWIS AND CLARK AND GEORGE.

Lori Alan (Gwen)

Before relocating to Los Angeles, Lori Alan began her career in Gotham City's improvisational troupe. She has been seen in BOYS ON THE SIDE and FATHER OF THE BRIDE II. On television, you can see Lori on BOSTON COMMON and episodes of NED & STACEY. She is currently working on her one-woman show along with numerous commercials and voice-overs.

Nestor Carbonelli (Max)

Nestor Carbonelli plays Max, Roy's waffle-eating roommate. Nestor is currently a series regular opposite Brooke Shields on NBC's hit show SUDDENLY SUSAN. Nestor has been a guest star on MELROSE PLACE, BROTHERLY LOVE and a series regular on MUSCLE. Nestor recently completed an original screenplay entitled MAGDELENA, MY LOVE.

Kenny Johnston (Mark)

Kenny Johnston is Mark, Brent's womanizing buddy with female trouble. Kenny has been seen on NED & STACY, BOY MEETS WORLD, NEWS RADIO and THE COMMISH as well as numerous national commercials.

Production Notes

Shot on 35mm over six days, utilizing eight Los Angeles locations GARAGE SALE represents the combined efforts of an extremely talented cast and crew. With a shoestring budget the film was completed on time and with a minimum of setbacks. GARAGE SALE has played over 15 International Festivals, including Chicago, Palm Springs, London, South Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
