Living with Magick in the workplace


We've all worked with her, or someone like her anyway, That tall, thin, sprite of a woman with the bright smile and the pin that says "Jesus put a Song in my Heart." Everyone loves her, especially the customers. Not one person questions her actions or her attire. OK, so I've managed to go quite some time without a question about "Why are you wearing THAT??" only to look down and see my Pent tangled ever-so-tightly with my snowflake pendant. Drat. The first thing that comes to mind is "What in the name of the Gods can I do now!?"
#1 Remember, you don't have to do anything! It's your right to stay quiet about this sort of thing.
#2 If you have the time and patience, you could try to explain our Faith to the curious person. This, however often leads to great frustration on both parties.
#3 Make up some terrific story about what it means or that it was a gift from your dying fiancee. (kidding)
#4 Always remember you have the power and the right to walk away at any time. They are not interrogating you and have no right to hold you against your will!
It is concidered an act of discrimination for your bosses to fire you solely because of your Faith. However, the people in charge can usually find some small excuse to get out through a loophole in teh system. You, also, do not have to answer any questions regarding your beliefs, unless you deem it nescasary. Last time I checked this was still America and we still had the Constitution! As it says from the Miranda Rights "You have the right to remain silent." If you don;t want to tell them about Wicca or Paganism, tell them your name, rank and serial number.

What to do When....

I just walked outside and found an inverted pentagram on my car door!

First things first, get REAL mad. People who mess with cars should be re-incarnated as maggots. #2 Contact the police, this is kind of iffy, it is concidered a hate crime, but do you want the cops to know what you are? If you know who did it, then you should contact the police. #3 Call your insurance company and get your door re-painted. Wouldn't want any more problems just because some idiot decided to deface your car.#4 Remember: Time heals all wounds, you will live.

Someone has thrown.. Something red all over my new siding and nicely manacured lawn!

EEEW!! #1 Do NOT touch it.. it could be anything! #2 Call the police, they have nice labs that will find out exactly what it is. #3 After the cops are done, clean up the mess. Wash or re-paint your siding. #4 Don't let the bastards get you down!
