| My Napptural Journey | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This month I tried the honey and olive oil deep conditioner. See honey.com. I heard about it from Nappturality of course. It was a little messy and I didn't see much of a difference, but I am going to try again. I tried banding last night after a conditioner wash (using Alberto VO5 Lime and Kiwi) and then a deep condtioner treatment. For my deep condition treatment, I tried somethng new. I added the honey/olive oil to my Lustrasilk Cholesterol Conditioner. I left in it I liked this combination and could see a difference in the my hair. I've found a winning combination until something new comes along that I want to try. For more information on banding see Nappturality.com. To band my hair, I put my hair first in four sections. I took each section and divided into four smaller sections. I used pieces cut from an old pair of pantyhose. This morning I had a huge fro and didn't know what to do with it. I had been doing the wash and go thing for five months now and letting my hair shrink. I like it that way. The big hair was a shock to me. In the end, I pulled it into a puff. I have a nice high puff. The next time I band I will make sure it's on the weekend when I have more time to do my hair. It stretched quite nicely. Dried like I had done a blow out. My hair was in great condition to braid. I think I try dry twists tonight to see how that goes. |

| I am taking part in: The Keep your hands out of your, hair challenge!!!!!!! I, (Claritta) promise to keep my hair in a braided or other unmantipulated protective style for one full month. This means that once I place my hair in a protective style i.e buns, braids ext., I will not take my hair down to Play with it or Style It differently than its original style. I can still wash, condition, trim my hair on a needed basis, however once I have completed these task I will Immediately place my hair back in its unmanipulated protective style. My dates are November 25 (my b-day ) - December 25. I have two strand twists. After the banding experiment, I dry twisted the front of my hair on Thursday night. I put the back in a pony puff. On Monday night, I twisted the back. I am going to try to keep these for two weeks, then wash and retwist. I can do this one month challenge. I used a new product to twist. I went to a local beauty supply store to get my Rasta Loc and Twist Wax and they didn't carry it. I picked up the ORS Loc & Twist Gel. It was $3.59 for 13 ounces. I liked the results and I got more for my money. I may have a new product. |
