I have been spending too much time on the Nappturality.com Forums Board. I am supposed to post a weekly entry to my journal. You know you are addicted when you neglect your own site. It's a thread topic. Okay anyway .... I have a new style this week. I put cornrow braids in front and a braid out in the back. I took the ends of the cornrow braids and braided them together. Off all the styles I've worn, I got the most compliments from this one. The braid out lasted longer than any other because I don't sleep on my back. Keeps it from getting flat. I've been practicing on making my parts straight and actually succeeded. Last week I experimented with head wraps. I am an amateur when it comes to head wraps, but I had fun experimenting. I bought fabric from Wal Mart. They always have a $1 table. I had 1 yd cut of different fabrics. I also found some fabric to make bands and purchased some headbands from the $1 Store and Claire's. I wondered how people at my job would take the wraps and surprising not one negative comment. I've been trying to wear styles that will keep me out of my head. With the all over braid out, I find myself playing in my hair. The front of my hair is not growing at the same rate as the back. I'm hoping the braids in the front and the head wraps will help that situtation. As always I took lots of pictures. Will post them soon. Right now I'm still using Wal Mart developing on CD and uploading to my site. I am working on getting my home computer running right so I can use the digital camera. |

I've always wanted micro braids, but I am afraid on the damage they can do the hairline. I've read a few stories and know some people that have had their hairlines literally disappear after wearing them. I'm scared of many things when it comes to my hair. I won't press it or color it either; although I've always wanted to try color. Well anyway, I have always looked at these braided wigs and thought they were cute. Never had the nerve to buy one. This weekend a friend of mine asked if I would ride with her to the beauty supply store. She was shopping for wigs. I saw the braided wig color 1B with 33 on the tips. It was $20. I bought it and loved the way it looks. I've got the look of braids and color without the possibility of damage. My hair is in cornrow braids. I moisturized my hair with my leave in conditioner, put on my satan wig cap, and then the wig. I wore it to church and people didn't realize it was a wig. They thought I had regular braids. I even fooled some people at worked. It looked pretty similiar to this one. (Wig Picture). I figure if people can use braids with extension why can't I wear a wig. |
