Angela Powers Trentham

Early December 2005

Dear Class

I can't wait to read everyone's latest news!  Topics and issues and geography bring you each to my mind quite often.  I pray you are having success at home and at work, and that you are finding genuine joy in life.

We're doing great here at the Trentham house!  Here are the bullet-points of what we're up .

SELLING OUR HOUSE F.S.B.O.:
Our house is on the market - bought an MLS listing, and put up website (www.HomeForFamily.INFO).  'Have had a lot of activities, and showings keep me busy.

JONATHAN'S AT COLLEGE:
Jonny's attending the Univ of TN at Knoxville and enjoying it thoroughly (www.myspace.com/jrtrentham).  He knows his roommate from high school, gets along well with his suitemates, treats the Baptist House as his second residence - the place where he's most likely to be found crashed out on a large sofa - and stays busy with astronomy and activities.  He took his telescope to school with him, and stores it in the physics head's office (it's about 4.5' tall, with a 3' refractor that's 10" diameter - and all very heavy).  I miss him a lot.

GARRETT'S A H.S. FRESHMAN: Garrett's doing well at high school.  He opted out of football this year, so he could maintain the lawn mowing business himself.  With Jonathan gone, he's had to double-time to keep pace.  But the money is good, and he's good at saving.  He's been hunting a lot this fall with his dad - duck/goose hunting in MO and IL, pheasant hunting in IA.  I am thoroughly enjoying having Garrett alone to myself now Jonny's gone -he's a very fun kid.

KEVIN IS JOB-HUNTING: As I write, Kevin's considering an offer from a company in Greenville, I'd hate to move that far away, but his opening looks perfect for him... He and I will travel over next week to view real estate, schools, more of the Greenville site and meetings for Kevin.

Kevin just returned from sixth annual waterfowl hunt in Canada.  He and three other guys drive the 32 hours to Bellevue, SK, 1.5 hours NE of Saskatoon.  Insane.  They've found the most fantastic retired woman up there, who ahs a large house and loves to keep groups like that - she keeps them there, and feeds them two hot meals a day, and helps them find people who'd like the meat from their hunts (too much red tape to bring the meat back home with them over the border).  They travel in our F-250, pulling a utility trailer FULL of decoys and equipment.

Our new Lab pup, Maggie, went to Canada, too.  Kevin shopped around for titled sires, and bought Maggie in January.  So, by the time the Canada trip came around, she was 8 months old, had earned two title ribbons in retriever tests.  She's smart as a whip, headstrong, and full of good hunting instinct - it's amazing how much of those skills are natural instinct.

THE POWERS FAMILY: My parents live in Huntsville, AL, a couple of hours south of us.  Dad's a traveling chaplain for a hospice care company, and covers north AL.  Mom stays at home, helps the nursery at church, takes a class here-and-there at the local college, and enjoys puttering in their yard and garden.  Monica/Kim and Melissa/David all live in Twin Cities area, MN.  Melissa/David have received their first baby this summer (!):  Lauren Medlissa Lee.  She is an absolute Doll!  Stephanie works for World Trumpet Mission (www.WorldTrumpetMission.org) in Kampala, Uganda, and was last in the in Oct '84.

ME: I'm doing very well!  Keeping the house spit-shined for showings has me on my toes lately - we're all smitten by what it's like to live in a house that's organized and shiny-clean All the Time!  In addition to that, I also continue to do nutrition education and sell JuicePLUS+ - daily capsules that contain the nutrition from seventeen fresh, raw fruits and vegetables (www.JuicePLUS.com) - a fantastic product!  With Kevin interviewing for jobs out-of-state, some of my time is consumed with research, with the hope that when he accepts a position, we can be ready to move quickly.  I am still praying that a great position opens up here in middle Tennessee, though!  We love it here.  I write and read a lot, too.

'Have done very little Christmas shopping, and today is to be devoted to that!  I wish you all memorable holiday with family and friends.  I pray for God's riches blessings for you each.

Love,
Angela
