Betsy Beard Brittain
Dear Pals

Greetings and salutations!  It has been so long since I've done a "newsletter" that it's hard to know where to begin.  Actually many thigns remain the same for us.  We are still in Anniston, AL living in the same house on the same street and as strange as it sounds, I still think that's "neato cool bananas".  The kids are bigger.  That's a definite change.  Ian (17) and Collin (15) both stand shoulder to shoulder with Tim now, and their shoulders aren't finished with their migration yet.  Jenna (11) isn't shoulder to shoulder with me yet, but I'll have to keep you posted on that one.  Tim continues to ply his engineering trade with the government.  The best part of his job is that he gets to work from our home most of the time with minimal traveling.  We love that!  I'm still in "homeschool mom" mode.

Ian graduates this May, unbelievable, and will most likely be attending Jacksonville State University full-time in the fall of '08.    It is a half hour down the highway, so we won't be shipping him off just yet.  He took English 101 there this semester and did very well.  (The 7:30 am class time was literally a rude awakening, but he survived it.)  When I look at Collin I am reminded that we were in 9th grade when I came to know most of you.  (We must be in ta time warp.)  Collin is the most computer savvy of the three, has an unusual sense of humor, (Actually, they all do. Hmmm), and loves music.  Guitars and drums are his thing.  Ian joins him on the mandolin.  Jeanna is our pianist.  She has managed to be a girly, girl in spite of here male dominated enviornment.  Her main interest, at the moment, is horses.  We dont' have one., thank goodness.  Her riding lesson highlights her week, cleaning stalls and all.  Winnie, Logan and Belle are our furry family members.  They bring us mostly joy.  :-)

We enjoy having Tim's mom close by.  She is a great "Mimi" and we count her presence in our lives as a great gift.  My mom is also close by although the Alzheimer's has left us lilttle but her smile.  Even so, her presence remains a great gift.  We mostly explore books together.  I read, she listens.  She smiled and said "I love you," last week.  I'm good for another year!  God has indeed been good to us and we are ever so thankful for his many blessings.

We are looking forward to the chance to sit down and catch up with as many of you as possible at the reunion.  Please come, if you can.  Your friendship remains one of my richest blessings.  "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord."

Merry Christmas!
