| Dwain Chambers Aged 26 Athlete Dwain was one of the world's greatest sprinters before his ban for testing positive for the designer drug THG. The ban left Dwain at the centre of a media circus but now he wants to get back on screens to show viewers the real Dwain Chambers. "I think the public have got the wrong perception of me and I want them to get to know who I really am. The best way to do that is to go on TV with the worst man you could ever imagine working with, or so they say, but I think he's cool." Dedicating his life to athletics, Dwain began picking up gold medals at the European Junior Championships in 1995 and 1996; by 2002 he was ranked second in the world, and even beat the incredible Maurice Green. Known as being one of the fastest men in the world led to Dwain trying to set a record pace for peeling apples, the only kitchen disaster he admits to: "Peeling apples at record breaking speed basically took off the top of my finger. I'm hoping to learn how to cook and how to mix and match food to create new dishes." With Dwain wanting to get back in the starting blocks and show viewers the real him, he is a bit worried that Gordon Ramsay might pick on him and end up making him look stupid: "Everyone was telling me how difficult he can be. I'm hoping he won't shout at us too much, but I know it's gonna happen anyway, oh well." So will Dwain's culinary skills and dedicated attitude be enough to get him to the finish line in Hell's Kitchen? |
