General Auction Rules

1. The Silent Auction and Dessert Auction will begin at 6:30pm.  Tables will close at various times throughout the evening.  The Dessert Auction will close first.  The winner of the dessert may choose to consume the dessert that evening or take it home.  No bidding is allowed after the closing.  The last section of the Silent Auction bidding will close at 9:00pm.  The Live Auction will begin immediately following the Silent Auction.

2. In the event of a dispute, the Richardfest and Auction chairs shall act as final authority and shall determine the final winning bidder.

3. All Silent and Live items and services must be paid for in full this evening in cash, by check or by
Master Card or Visa.  Checks should be made out to “Richard P.T.O”.  Cash and Checks are preferred.

4. A checkout table will tabulate your purchases total.  You will be given a receipt for items purchased after you have paid.  This receipt needs to be presented to the item packagers in order to pick up purchased items.

5. All items are sold “As Is”.  While every reasonable effort is made to describe each item correctly, all items are sold “as is” or “where is”.  Richard Elementary makes no expressed or implied warranties on auction items.  Dollar values are estimates provided by the donors and are not warranted by Richard Elementary, Richard P.T.O. or Grosse Pointe Public Schools for tax purposes or market value.

6. Service items are sold subject to the terms and conditions stipulated by the donor.  All services are to be used within the time limits stated or within one year of the Auction.  Please note specifications and limitations carefully.  No item is returnable, refundable or exchangeable.

7. All auction items must be removed from the War Memorial by the end of the evening.

Silent Auction Rules

1. Each item in the Silent Auction has a corresponding Bid Sheet.  Persons desiring to bid may do so by writing their bid number and the amount of the bid on the sheet.

2 You may bid on each item as many times as you wish.  After you have written your bid, you may not stand in front of the bid sheet for an unreasonable amount of time.  All bidders must be allowed reasonable access to the Bid Sheets.

3 Minimum bids and minimum raises on all items are specified on the Bid Sheets.  Each new bid must be written on the next blank line available on the Bid Sheet.  Bids will be disqualified if minimum raises are not sufficient.  Bid Sheets may not be removed from tables.

4. Every bid is a binding commitment.

5. Bids will be disqualified if a bidder’s number is written illegibly.  In the event of a dispute, the Richardfest and Auction Chairs shall act as the final authority and shall determine the winning bidder.
