Your Richard PTO
Richard Elementary
How would you like to get those pesky Christamas cards out of the way, get your family in the Auction Brochure, and help raise money for the Richard PTO all in one afternoon

Your pictures are ready!!
If you have not already done so, you may now pick up your free 5X7 and choose your picture for the booklet. If you did not choose a picture when you picked your free 5X7, the free shot you chose will go into the booklet.

Richard Families, Staff, and Teachers Benefits
For a $30 donation, Richard families, individuals, and/or groups may have their photo taken by Speedi Photo Photographers. Speedi Photo of GPW has generously offered a free sitting fee with a free 5 X 7 to Richard families, teachers, and staff. Each Photo will be printed in the Auction Booklet and displayed in a slide show at the Auction and Carnival (Speedi Photo has also offered a free CD of all pictures).  We encourage you to order more copies of these pictures for Christmas cards, gifts, or your other needs (all additional copies will be available before Christmas).

Speedi Photo photographers have set up two dates for scheduling in 15 minute time slots from 12:00PM-5:00PM on
Sunday, November 2nd, 2003 and 9:00AM-6:30PM on Wednesday, November 5th, 2003.

As the Wednesday schedule incorporates school hours we may not be able to use the classroom for pictures. If a classroom can not be arranged, photographers will select an appropriate backdrop in the library, gym, or outside weather pending. On Sunday we plan on, if feasible, photographing in front of one of the Pewabic fireplaces at Richard.

Speedi Photo of GPW Benefits

Picture orders, their camera-ready advertisement in the Auction Booklet, a web site link on the Richardfest 2004 Home Page, and their company logo displayed with the slide shows at the Carnival and Auction. And hopefully, your future business!

The Scheduling Process

An interest survey will be conducted on Tuesday, September 16th and Wednesday, September 17th during the Back to School night Activities. Peggy Murphy will contact anyone interested in having a picture taken for scheduling. Peggy Murphy
murphettes3@att.com or 417-9203 will be organizing the Speedi Photo Scheduling process with the help of the Lisa Turner’s Sponsorship/Advertising Committee. The Picture Registration Forms will be sent home in children backpacks at the end of September and requested back to the office by Friday, October 24, 2003. Pictures will be schedule on a first come first serve basis (the $30 donation must be received before your appointment is confirmed). E-mail confirmations will be sent prior to scheduled appointment. If we do not have an e-mail address listed the individuals/groups contact person will be called.

Ideas for Pictures

Recommendations for taking a good picture
Rest! Relax and be yourself. Arrive rested and feeling your best. Also, wake up well before your appointment, so you don't look like you just got up. Please be 5 minutes early for your appointment.

Clothing: Families should wear alike clothing that you feel is flattering in both fit and color. Wear clothes that you normally wear, solid colors, and long sleeves photograph best. Dress according to your tastes. If you're casual, then be casual in your photograph. Middle tones of deeper, solid colors generally photograph best with formal backgrounds. High necklines make the neck seem shorter and face seem fuller. Short sleeves make the arms appear larger. Casual outfits in earth tones work best for portraits. White or pastel colors are perfect for High-Key, White and lighter backgrounds. Be sure to take extra care with your outfits so they don't wrinkle before you arrive.

Hair: Wear your hair the way you do naturally. If you are trying a new style, or getting a hair cut, do it at least two weeks before your appointment.

Mom’s Make-up: Keep it natural and fresh. You may want an extra touch of blush for cheek color and mascara on eyelashes.

Dad’s -Fresh Shave:
A fresh shave is a must. If you have a beard or mustache, make sure it's neatly trimmed.
