Budget Allocation
Friendly Amendment to the Amendment from the Motion Passed
The Richard PTO approves the allocation of all profits from fundraisers this school year, including Richardfest 2004, to purchase the school resources in the following order.
1. LITERACY LIBRARY FOR K-5 STUDENTS $12,000
Purchase reading materials that assist and enhance the teaching staff’s ability to incorporate DIFFERENTIATED TEACHING.
2. REPRODUCTION ENHANCEMENT $15,000
Copier Lease: Allocate up to $15,000 for the leasing and maintenance agreement of a copier for use by the Richard Staff and PTO.
3. PLAYGROUND ENHANCEMENT $5,000
a) Portable Equipment: Allocate up to $5,000 to purchase playground items and a storage unit.
4. MOBILE WIRELESS LAB $10,000
a) Purchase an additional 5 laptops (for a total of 15 with 10 laptops, computer cart, and wireless printer coming from district in spring of 2004).
b) Purchase “Elmo” feature to add to the Wireless Lab. The purchase of additional computer equipment will provide an increased amount of computer access time to students and teachers. Children currently have limited access to the school’s existing computer lab due to the high curriculum requirements placed on students in grades 4 and

We are confident that with 100% participation and support of all fundraising activities this year, we will be able to fund all the items listed above.
