Starshps: Fighters

The K-wing was developed by the Comos Engineers for the purpose of patrol around the planet of Duodena.

However as the galaxy became unstable the K-wings were refitted incase of war, and became the key starfighter in the Confederate fleet.

K-wing fighters include a socket for an support droid, which deals with the in-flight maintenance and repairs. They can also fly the fighter when put on auto pilot.

It carries a payload of Protactinium missiles in addition to it's laser cannons. It's very powerful and fast, the K-wing is used in a deadly manner to destroyed the Death Cigar.

Some of the greatest pilots for the Confederacy, flew in that very battle and over came the greatest odds to destroy the Starship. Outnumbered Commander Krammer devised a plan that saw a small fleet of just 30 fighters destroy the starship.

In attack the K-wing forms a K configuration so it appears flying as a K.

EKI Fighter

The EKI Fighter was designed by the Merchant Federation engineering firm LASOP, after Senator Sanitarium took out an order for 10,000 fighters to be constructed high than usual.

The standard EKI fighter carries no deflector shield or hyperdrive controls and employs high-performance Strontium engines energized by it's base by arrays or it's "wings".

This design makes them lethally agile, but leaves the pilot defenceless and unable to travel far from the starship it is powered from.

It's weaponary is limited to just light duty quad blasters and is under armed compared to it's rival the K-wing.

However where it lacks in armaments, the disadvantage is made up in speed and well trained pilots.

In the attack on the Death Cigar the EKI try in vain to protect it but are not a worthy fighter as a defensive tool.
